Jeff Bezos shares nostalgic video to reveal he’s leaving Seattle, birthplace of Amazon, for Miami

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced Thursday that he is ditching the birthplace of his trillion-dollar company for the warmth of Florida — where he recently snatched up multiple mega-mansions.

Bezos, 59, revealed he was leaving his longtime home of Seattle in a nostalgic Instagram post, paired with a throwback video of his much younger self showing off the original Amazon headquarters that he ran out of his garage.

Bezos said he would be leaving the notoriously dreary Northwestern city behind to follow his parents, who also recently made the move to Miami, where the family lived during Bezos’ high school years.

The move is also partially motivated by Blue Origin — his space exploration company — whose “operations are increasingly shifting to Cape Canaveral.”

His fiancée, media personality Lauren Sanchez, 53, will also make the cross-country move.

“I want to be close to my parents, and Lauren and I love Miami,” Bezos wrote.

U.S. Has Given Afghanistan $11 Billion in Aid Since Disastrous Biden Withdrawal

The report revealed the United States and its allies have supported the Afghan economy with “cash shipments” averaging $80 million that “arrive in Kabul every 10-14 days” ever since the Taliban takeover and President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal in 2021. The U.S. has sent over $11 billion in assistance to Afghanistan and Afghan refugees since then.

Sopko quoted U.N. assurances that the money is “placed in designated U.N. accounts in a private bank,” rather than being “deposited in the central bank or provided to the Taliban.”

The U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) stressed that the cash deliveries are “carefully monitored, audited, inspected, and vetted in accordance with U.N. financial rules and processes.”

SIGAR did not wade into the argument about the fungibility of foreign aid money that has raged ever since the Biden administration paid a $6 billion ransom to Iran for five hostages. If the U.S. and other governments are spending $3 billion to feed, house, and medicate Afghans, it frees up $3 billion for the irresponsible and malevolent Taliban government to spend on its unsavory priorities.

Also, while humanitarian groups correctly point out that economic instability hurts the poorest residents of Afghanistan, the Taliban is poised to reap benefits from the economy that American taxpayers have spent so much money “stabilizing.”

SIGAR did, however, note that the Taliban has a long history of stealing foreign aid, blocking oppressed minority populations from receiving it, and “siphoning cash from U.N. shipments, or collecting royalties, or charging fees on cash shipments.”

And the story isn't any different in Gaza, where Hamas steals every single dollar and euro they get from Western countries.

FBI Raids Home of New York Mayor Eric Adams’ Fundraising Chief

The FBI and the NYPD raided the home of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ chief fundraiser on Thursday as part of an investigation into alleged illegal funds received from a foreign government.

The mayor had to cancel a White House meeting centered on the current migrant crisis burgeoning in New York City, with sources telling CBS News that he learned of an international probe into “foreign government influence peddling.”

“You probably heard the reports involving one of my campaign staffers, and listen, everyone knows me. I comply with the rules. We’re going to comply with any inquiry, and we will all do that,” Adams said on Thursday. “That is what we do. I have not been contacted by anyone involving this, and I’m just going to continue running this city, the greatest city on the globe.”

Adams’ campaign lawyer said the mayor received no word of an impending raid, which happened early Thursday morning in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

Louisiana School Bus Driver Chokes Student

An elderly school bus driver in Louisiana was accused of choking a student on Monday, and video footage shows the incident unfold.

The driver, who was transporting children from Marrero Middle School at the time, was arrested, officials with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office told Nola.com on Thursday.

Sgt. Brandon Veal told the outlet that 77-year-old Miles Jenkins was booked on simple battery; however, WVUE reported Thursday he was out on bond.

According to the Jefferson Parish Public School System, Jenkins worked for its transportation vendor, First Student, the Nola.com article said.

Video footage shows the bus driver, who resigned from his position, allegedly pushing the young student while on the bus:

At one point, the man appears to slap the student, who tries to push the man off of him. Moments later, the bus driver seems to hold the student against the window with his hands around the child’s neck.

WVUE noted it was unclear what caused the incident in the first place.

Connecticut Judge Tosses Election Results After Video of Ballot Fraud Emerges

Voters in Bridgeport, Connecticut are set to go to the polls Tuesday despite Superior Court Judge William Clark throwing out the results of the September 12 primary.

“The volume of ballots so mishandled is such that it calls the result of the primary election into serious doubt and leaves the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary,” Clark’s ruling reads.

The video, allegedly leaked by a whistleblower in the city government, depicts what appears to be individuals allegedly depositing multiple ballots to the ballot drop box.

One individual is alleged to be a supporter of Democratic Mayor Joe Ganim, who defeated challenger John Gomes by only 251 votes.

Only a voter or a voter’s designee can drop a ballot in an absentee ballot collection box in Connecticut.

Gomes sued to have the results overturned.

Clark, who called the level of apparent fraud “shocking,” has no authority to halt next week’s general election, which is still set for Tuesday, according to the Hartford Courant.

If Ganim wins, another Democrat primary will take place, according to the court’s order.

Gomes is running in the general election as an independent.

10 of Ukraine’s 24 Regions Hit by Russian Strikes Overnight

Russia unleashed a wave of nighttime drone and missile attacks across 10 of Ukraine´s 24 regions, Ukrainian authorities said Friday as they prepare for another winter of infrastructure bombardment by the Kremlin´s forces.

Ukraine´s air force said it intercepted 24 of 38 Shahed drones and one Kh-59 cruise missile launched by Russia.

The attacks caused fires in homes and public buildings, especially in the southern Kherson region which Moscow has increasingly targeted in recent weeks, emergency services said. Authorities reported that two people were injured.

Andriy Yermak, the president´s chief of staff, said Russia had expanded the number of drones it uses in its routine nighttime attacks as winter approaches.

Laser-guided munitions designed to take out drones are expected to be part of a $425 million package of new U.S. military aid to Ukraine, according to U.S. officials.

The coming wet, muddy and cold weather will likely frustrate both sides´ efforts to advance on the battlefield, compelling a change in military tempo.

People Smugglers Arrested After Hungary-Serbia Border Plagued With Migrant Gun Battles

Serbian police said Friday they made seven arrests on suspicion of smuggling people into Hungary as part of a days-long crackdown on irregular migration in the wake of a shooting last week in the border area that killed three migrants and wounded one.

Reports of violence and gun battles have become common near the border between Serbia and Hungary, a European Union member state. Thousands of people have been camping in the area, looking for ways to cross with the help of people smugglers.

Police said Friday they made arrests both in the capital Belgrade and in Subotica, a city near the border with Hungary. Migrants pay 2,350 euros ($2,500) each to cross, said the statement.

Since the shooting last Saturday near the border town of Horgos, police have launched daily raids in the forested area. Late on Thursday, police reported finding a total of 738 migrants, some near the border with Hungary, but others in a town near the border with Bulgaria, in the east. When found, migrants are usually transferred to reception centers throughout the country.

Britain and Austria Agree to Collaborate Illegal Migration, Seek Cooperation on Deporting Migrants

British Home Secretary Suella Braverman visited Vienna on Thursday to ink a new cooperation agreement on fighting terrorism, illegal migration, and cybercrime. It is claimed the agreement could lead to deeper cooperation on the critical question of mass migration and the removal of arrivals to alternative accommodation in Africa.

The accord comes just days after five Nordic nations signed a major new agreement on cooperation on deportation flights.

The new bilateral agreement between the UK and Austria is intended to strengthen police and security services cooperation.

This, he said, is an “intensive and necessary exchange of information [and] also a central element of our cooperation agreement”.

“Austria is a close ally in tackling illegal migration, and we have already begun sharing knowledge of our actions and strategies such as third country removals. This joint statement is a commitment to work more closely together to achieve our aims, and enhance our cooperation on a wide range of security challenges.”

In addition to what has been agreed already, both countries left the meeting apparently willing to discuss further cooperation. Britain’s Conservative government has spent nearly two years trying to launch a plan to relocate some asylum seekers to Rwanda, whose government the UK would pay to house and feed those deported.

Germany Enacts Total Ban on Support for Hamas, Dissolves Groups

The German government has announced a ban on pro-Palestinian charity Samidoun as well as activities in support of Hamas, little less than a month after the deadly terror attack against Israel that killed over 1,400.

A network of charities and groups in Germany that are not officially linked to Hamas but nevertheless may be perceived to be close to it, or which campaign for pro-Palestine causes have been banned, the country’s Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced on Thursday.

...According to German press reports, the ban will clamp down on that, and the government will even seek to deport foreign-citizen supporters of Hamas.

The Minister said of the development: “With Hamas, I have today completely banned the activities of a terrorist organization whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel… There is no place for antisemitism in Germany, and we will fight it with all our might.”

...The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, one of the German charities impacted by today’s ban was found to have given out cakes in the street demonstrations.  Faeser said, reports Deutsche Welle, that “Holding spontaneous ‘jubilant celebrations’ here in Germany in response to Hamas’s terrible terrorist attacks against Israel demonstrates Samidoun’s antisemitic, inhuman worldview in a particularly sickening way.”

She said of the Samidoun organisation that it: “spreads anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda as an international network under the guise of a ‘solidarity organization’ for prisoners in various countries.”

Anyone now supporting the groups is now committing a crime, and the German state can dismantle the organisations and confiscate their assets.

...the ban could lead to riots in the coming nights, with the paper noting: “Palestinian demonstrations have been announced for the coming weekend; Tens of thousands of participants are expected in Berlin alone.”

Ayatollah Khamenei: ‘Death to America’ Is Not Just a Slogan, but Iran’s ‘Policy’

The “supreme leader” of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared in an address on Wednesday that the common chant of “Death to America” in his country is “not just a slogan – it is a policy,” one his regime intended to bring to fruition.

Khamenei was reportedly delivering remarks on Iranian regime-controlled television regarding the ongoing conflict between the nation of Israel and the Hamas genocidal terrorist organization, which Iran funds to the tune of tens of millions of dollars a year. The Iranian regime has enthusiastically embraced Hamas following its harrowing October 7 terrorist attack against civilians in Israel...

On the night of October 7, in response to the news of mass death, the Iranian regime staged a massive street party in the heart of Tehran, featuring free sweets and lemonade, a fireworks display, and loud chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” Iranian officials have since falsely claimed that Israel as a state has “totally collapsed” and that Hamas’s victims, even the babies, were “not civilians.”

Khamenei expanded his hateful remarks against Israel on Wednesday by declaring that, given America’s longstanding support for that country, “Death to America” was a core goal of his regime’s foreign policy.

“The situation between America and Iran is this: When you chant ‘Death to America!’ it is not just a slogan – it is a policy,” Khamenei said, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “I have stated the reasons previously. For many years, from the 1940s to the 1970s – that is 30 years – the Americans did everything they could do against the Iranian nation.”

“They hit Iran in any way they could – financially, economically, politically, scientifically, and morally,” the elderly despot continued.

“If it were not for America’s support, if it were not for the support of U.S. weapons, the corrupt and artificial Zionist regime [Israel] would have been destroyed in the first week,” Khamenei claimed. “It would have collapsed. The Americans are behind this:”

So next time you hear that either the ayatollah's Iran or Hamas is a peaceful nation or organization, they're blatantly lying to you. They do love to  kill other people for not sharing their hatred and extremism.

Iranian teen Armita Geravand dies following alleged assault by morality police

A teenage Iranian girl who fell into a coma after she was allegedly assaulted by the country’s morality police for not wearing a headscarf has died, according to Iranian state media.

“Unfortunately, the brain damage led to the victim spending some time in a coma and she died a few minutes ago,” the statement from IRNA said.

Earlier this week, Armita was declared “brain dead” despite the efforts of medical staff to save her.

Armita Geravand, 16, was hospitalized with head injuries following the alleged assault at a Tehran metro station earlier this month, according to activists, just weeks after Iran passed draconian legislation imposing much harsher penalties on women who breach the country’s already strict hijab rules.

Hengaw staffer Awyer Shekhi previously told CNN that female morality police officers had approached Geravand near the Shohada metro station and asked her to adjust her hijab.

“This request resulted in an altercation with the morality police officers physically assaulting Geravand. She was pushed, leading to her collapse,” Shekhi said.
