Officers demanded that the protesters disperse, and gave those who refused a €135 ($150; £120) on-the-spot fine.
Protesters called for pay rises, and demanded reforms for better working conditions for healthcare workers.

Chris Patten: UK should tell China this is outrageous

Chris Patten, Hong Kong's final British governor before the 1997 handover, says the UK should tell China its proposal for a Hong Kong national security law is "outrageous".
Lord Patten said China was using the preoccupation with the coronavirus pandemic to "bully and harass in other areas".

Well, the former governor gotta be regretting UK ever agreed to leave Hong Kong at the end of the 20th century. How could they even believe for a second China would care about treaties? How did they forget what communism means in the real world?
