Finally took the plunge

Hey all, some of you may know me from interacting on the discord, otherwise from some of the other RPGMaker communities or wherever, decided to make an account for the forum since I didn't have one yet. 

And here's my current introductory wall of text for the rest:
I'm LegoNenen (sometimes just Nenen) aka C.N.Gentle. Jewish Jesus-Freak.
Been wanting to make games for a long time, with KotOR specifically giving me my love for RPGs.
But it wasn't until I finally tried out RPGmaker, around 2019, that I thought that maybe I could actually make RPGs myself (a difficult genre for beginners regardless).
Mostly use VX Ace these days (for the longest time it was the Lite [demo] version, but now I own most of them so no more painful limits :P), in part because I'm used to it, and the more perhaps important part being that, as of the writing of this, my pc is a potato and this one runs well on it even still.
Haven't finished any games, outside of game-jam entries (none of which I'm happy with :P), however.

I'm 'self-taught' at Writing Fiction and creating Illustrations, but am mostly untested when it comes to actually showing off my stories; as it's far easier to finish a sketch and show it off then a story :P
Also got a black belt in the korean martial art of Tang Soo Do, if anybody is interested :P

Currently my strengths are probably creating graphics, since that's usually what I've spent time on tbh. (I guess I may have to put some of them up here on these forums? :P)

Edit: also I do music composition and performance :P so someday that'll be part of my games too

You never brought up your martial arts in discord.  But ya know, if you worked on combat animations, your study of Tang Soo Do could prove useful... if you set up enough animation cels to reflect a move properly.

What kinds of genre do you prefer in your game jams?  And who knows?  If you take one of your jams, it COULD be reworked to something special.

I think I joined in one conversation on martial arts technically :P
but yeh, it should be useful for animations :P (I've also studied a whole bunch of others; Choy-li-fut Kungfu, Judo, Bushido kai... and I feel like I'm missing one; but not as far in any of them really so I'm very much a noob in those beyond the carry-over :P)

regarding GameJams: I've tried a variety, though usually open-ended in game genre beyond the horror jams (which I always failed to complete for some reason); usually my goal is to have them be an RPG if I think I have time, though once I tried to go for a pointNclick adventure game :P.

I have one game-jam entry that I have on the back burner to be reworked someday, it really came out bad and very much unfinished in the jam but I feel the core ideas behind it have some solid potential. (Here's a video of hawkzombie playing it :P)

(even had a plan to rework some of it's ideas into a pirate/whaling game for another jam that I had to drop)

GameJams are basically the only way I get any games done atm
