The fact that Daylight Saving Time is approaching is What's on kyonides's mind.

This week's News of the World was the final moments between Ukraine's President Zelenskii and President Trump and VP Vance in the Oval Office. Even GOP Senator Lindsey Graham who had supported Zelenski in the past suggests someone new be in charge of Ukraine if Zelenski could not patch things up. However, there are calls to cancel President Trump's State visit to the UK, and a Norwegian Company suggested a boycott against the US Navy. The bodies of four hostages have been released by Hamas, followed by Israel's release of dozens of Palestinaian prisoners. And with that talks have entered the second phase for a sustained cease fire. However, China isn't helping matters having now supplied 1,000 tons of sodium perchlorate to Iran for their missile fuel production. The entertainment Industry suffered the loss of Michelle Trachtenberg, star of Harriet the Spy, and in both "Gossip Girl" and TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer at age 39. And the discovery of Two-Time Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife dead at home has many suspicious, Hackman and his wife found in separate rooms while their dog was also found dead within a closet. Their bodies found partially mummified in the dry New Mexico air. The US transport chief seeking to boost air traffic control hiring being over three-thousand short in staff, the ACLU and others sue to prevent the use of Guantanamo Bay for migrant detainees, Mel Gibson's call to fuel another recall effort against Governor Newsome citing criminal negilgence, and more hit this week's news.

Zeriab's initial Thoughts on the Interpreter's Script Command edited by kyonides wasn't favorable, but found favor in a version released later. It was RPGMaker VXAce that inspired kyonides recent work on the Script handling method, though there was dialogue back and forth regarding what was classified as a true response. But when kyonides replied that he tests his work, DerVVulfman took note and aggravated discource went back and forth between the two.

Material Development
Tools
Ace_V enjoyed using MapMaker (for RMXP) but had issues. And after kyonides recommended edits, DerVVulfman appeared and saw that the version available for download did not contain changes that he had intended days before. And after he released a gif showing how the tool worked with Ace_V's demo stripped down, Ace_V had solved his issues. But not long after, DerVVulfman uploaded a sixth version that handled empty map and issues with the filenames of saved map images.

RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
There were repeated updates to the Script Commands Bug Fixes by kyonides, dealing with the interpreter method that handles scripts, but relays his estimation that a system freezing fault lay between the Interpreter's Update and execute_command options, and the handling of the running index value.

More of a scripting tool, DerVVulfman posted the Sort File Snippet which is designed to merely sort and rewrite the content of a text file.

If you think the arrow indicators pointing at Actors or Enemies were too small, don't worry. DerVVulfman released JR's Oversized Arrow which allows one to use an outside graphic that allows you to have arrows twice as large.

A number of edits were performed upon Poccil's Tilemap Rewrite, both working to handle tiles that were defined as having a high priority rating within the tileset. The most recent version includes a new editable configuration value to let one adjust how the priority tiles zoom as DerVVulfman relays that very little additional zoom is needed if it was used within the HiddenChest executible by kyonides.

If anyone has need for modern art in their RPGMaker game, the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V now includes a conventional AC window unit. A perfect resource to acquire before the weather gets too warm.

For those working upon models or custom tilework, the Massive Library of Free Images for Everyone may have textures which you may have need. This week, Eric Matyas made half-a-dozen textures of metal showing oxidation, from rough to extreme. And a very dark texture depicting a rough of midnight blue is also available if desired.

Only two of DerVV's Stream FrankenArts were presented this week. Two pieces he worked on for Siletrea's Iceborne campaign, one an actual collaborative effort between the two. However, DerVVulfman interspersed his recent post with some comedy-related online gifs.

A bit early for easter, but a new work had appeared within Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing!. Her gallery now depicts a fairly sheepish figure in a tattered robe with her hood up. But while she carries a shepard's cane, she is no one to mess with.

Well, that's it for this week.

Of which News of the World are you interested? Is it the peace talks that US President Trump is working upon between Ukraine and Russia? Despite talks being underway, the war rages and Russia loses four major refineries, and a spyware facility to drone attacks followed by a large scale drone attack that targeted Kiev. And while Russia was pushed back to their current position and did not take all of Ukraine as they planned, Putin is already orhestrating a "Victory over NATO" propaganda engine. But as Putin makes plans, NATO makes its own preparations for troops within the Ukraine to ensure stability. Within the US, a Biden Appointed Judge rejected the lawsuit to prevent Elon Musk's DOGE from Federal systems. Already, Doge uncovered 20 Million in fraud within the Social Security for people over 100 years of age, up to 150 years old having checks cut no less. And the new commerce secretary welcomes DOGE to find any instance of fraud such as that. China is not too thrilled with the US after the State Department removed text from its website, line of text suggesting the independent nation of Taiwan (the remaining original Republic of China) be reunited or returned to the CCP. But then again, China ignores maritime law and deployed forces against a Canadian warship in the Taiwan strait despite any a state's sovereignty ends after the 12 nautical miles from its territorial waters. And as Hamas frees more Israeli hostages, Iran begins becoming more aggressive, claiming to arrest two British tourists and an unnamed Israeli under charges of espionage. A Massachusetts Teachers Union under fire for anti-semitism, the FAA under fire from 1000+ applicants denied employment and racial discrimination under the Biden administration, the Tupak Shakur murder trial delayed till next year, Pope Francis's critical condition, L.A.'s mayor criticized for firing the Fire Chief by the United Firefighter's union, violence committed by women in California soars, a stabbing at Berlin Holocaust Memorial, and more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
This week the News of the Cyber World had good news and bad news for Elon Musk. While charges brought by the Biden Department of Justice for refusing to hire Illegal Aliens was droppped by the Trump administration, Musk's jaw must have dropped after hearing his rival's AI service recommend something worse than prison. For electric vehicles it is just unkind, as the US government is shutting down charging stations at their federal building and Walmart issued a recall on electric scooters after an apartment was sent ablaze over its lithium ion battery, the manufacturer actively ignoring calls for recall by the Consumer Product Safety Commission itself. Google to be hit by the European Union for moreviolations of the Digital Markets Act, Microsoft preparing a new GPT model, XBox pushing an AI model that developers actually argue against using, and more hit this week's cybernews.

Even though Remi-chan says she still suffers from burnout, asking her What's up would reveal that she is still getting some resources for her game, be it spritework from Rune or spritework from Coyote, In the meantime, she posted two more videos showing game footage reworked and revised.

Were you to venture into the Maps and screenshots thread, it would be a study in contrasts. Mel posted four scens from her game, an airship with both its interior and shot against a darkened sky with one image animated. And Remi-chan with four shots of her own with worlds, alien or otherwise as backdrops, whether a destoyed satellite-like outpost, an urban jungle or above a familiar blue-white sphere.

Though released only last week, The Steal and Peep Script had one more update, and it adds a feature where some custom gear can be used to improve the chance of either theft of peeping in respect to other gear of like stats worn.

There have been a number of scripts out there, but DerVVulfman compiled a number of the hidden class scripts, and reworked them for his SCREEN SIZE for RMXP collection. A part of a Re-Envisioned Game Set, the scripts were altered to let one develop a game beyond the traditional fixed resolution of 800x600. However, he did disable the ability to enter Fullscreen mode as that is something built into the Game.Exe itself.

DerVVulfman was looking for a tilemap script for his own uses, and found one that intrigued him. Thus, we now have Poccil's Tilemap Rewrite, a tilemap script that can support the increase/decrease of camera zoom if an appropriate script is used.

The last of the Re-Envisioned Game Set scripts is Poccil Map Zoom. Originally by Trebor777 and originally for SephirothSpawn's Tilemap script, it was rewritten for use with Poccil's.

If you like the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V, you will enjoy the fact that he updated the editor pin set he released last week. But for those who have a penchant for art, he turned the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer into an actual characterset graphic for use.

If you are looking for some Low Fidelity work, fear not for Eric Matyas Shaed More Original Music, His "Game Menu" from 2016 now has that Low Fi sound, and the more energetic "Mind Bender" from 2017 now has its energetic Calimba in fabulous Low Fidelity.

Art and Design
It was surprise to Remi-chan this week when venturing through the galleries to see that Her Own Neato Arty thread thing! did not contain her Valentine's Day art. No longer the flat colors, the Angel shares a moment with the demon meek, set against a starry sky lit wine. As expected, a speed draw is included.

A perfectionist in his trade, Rise Evil Demos updated his Art Deck by providing updated color patterns to some renders of Raira, the electric Nekomimi. But as he did, he added a couple more works such as Raira climbing a tree. But what would you expect of a cat?

Literature
When ones delves through the hallways of the forum's center for the creatives, they may venture upon some of Remi-chan's Writing Snippets~. And this week, she released a few pages involving the villains and antagonests the players will unvariably encounter, a shadow queen whose existance is older than the universe, a cherubim facing down the Priestess of the Moon, and the shephard of Eden itself. If reading is not your style, you may choose the 'books on tape' option at the bottom of Remi-chan's latest post.

Well, that's it for this week.

Recently, we had Errors with the Attachments system. However, Kirito reported it was related to a bug discovered in the web server software we were using. Since then, Kirito changed it out, allowing the attachments to be accessible once again.

Feedback and Suggestions
This week, DerVVulfman looked into forum security. However, he was worried about new registrants not appearing and created a poll asking Are the New Security Questions Too Hard?. It is a simple poll with just "Too Hard" and "Just Right"

Oh, friends. You look tired. Have some fun and ask kyonides the question of What are YouTubing?. That is if you don't think a Freddy Kruger Tier list won't give you nightmares tonight.

For those who are fans of PalWorld, it appears that Nintendo's Lawsuit against them had hit a Snag. Almost all of the patents that Nintendo filed have been rejected by the US Patent and Trademark Office, patents that form the basis of Nintendo's lawsuit.

This week, issues of animation speed was What's up with an RMer named Steel Beast 6Beets. He believed the issue of a common event delivering animations was slowed down by a Large Party script, to which caught the eye of DerVVulfman. He did a few changes, and noted a mere 2fps drop in speed during default attack animations. However, the custom ones from Steel Beast 6Beet's common event persist.

Material Development
Tools
While there was nothing wrong with the tool itself, DerVVulfman returned with an updated copy of MapMaker (for RMXP), stating that the supplied INI file had an incorrect value assigned. Along with the explanation he gave as to the correction within the INI, he also supplied an updated version of the package's Readme file.

Scripts Database
Script Requests
Continuing from last week, DerVVulfman worked more upon the Steal Script Edit that Ace_V requested, and suggested that the existing edit of the default damage pop wasn't enough to show both damage attacks and stolen goods pop combined and that a second pop method would be needed. And after showing off his initial success, DerVVulfman stated that the script would have a vocabulary section for any text that was previously hard-coded within the original.

RPGMaker XP (RGSS) Engine
The The Steal and Peep Script released this week by DerVVulfman is a request realized. Based on the 2005 script by makeamidget & Khatharr, it allows a game developer that can craft either a Steal Combat skill or an Enemy Scanning skill that has the option to deliver damage to an enemy target. Divided into three pages, this work includes some of the back-and-forth banter of the original coders. And after Ace_V found some errors within the code, DerVVulfman returned with a revision and explanation of what corrections that were made.

Resources Database
2D Resources
This week, you can find useful temporary placeholder pins among the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V. Their basic use could be reminders to fix or betatest events, locations where to place NPCs and more. And along with the basic allotment provided, Ace_V included some with pre-defined phrases to assist developers and mappers in recognizing what they have planned at some later date.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
If any creatives needed a fast paced techno beat for their game, it is a good thing that Eric Matyas continues to work on his Original Music and Sound. Though under the weather last week, he returned with a new composition entitled "Cyberpunk Street Chase" that combines a simple but rapid fire drum beat with a good share of 80s styled digital harmonies.

Well, that's it for this week.

Following the server upgrade that occurred two weeks prior, Kirito performed some more Software Modifications. Because of this, features such as the spoilers do not need to be re-added each time the forum's software is upgraded.

This week's News of the World began with various actions by US President Trump, signing the Laken Riley act, how his use of Tariffs inspired both Mexico and Canada to begin working with him on border security, and the near halt of illegal immigrants appearing. However, all this is being attacked by groups wishing to re-open the border, leaks to ICE raids such as the ones after Tren De Aragua in Colorado, and keep USAID running despite the rank insubordination and an ongoing audit showing excessive spending with no accountability. Still, US recruitment has hit an all-time high. California continues losing companies to Texas like Realtor.com and Charles Schwab, Ukraine hitting Russia Command in Kursk, the possibility that California's Utilities started the wildfires, new sanctions on Iran's Oil, Panama pulls out of Chinese deal after US Rubio visit, Superbowl 2025, and more hit this week's news.

This week, it was discovered that RPGMaker VXAce is available for Free on Steam as part of a promotional deal while two other promotional deals for the same engine still exist until this upcoming Monday (February 10th). Normally $69.99, it is a deal for anyone using Steam.

For those wondering What's up among the forum's RMers, DerVVulfman continues working on spriting resources for his Half Kaiser battlers, finishing the short-sleeved shirt resource, and continuing with footwear. Meanwhile, Remi-chan received new spritework from Rune (or Xiie), and wished to show it off.

Within the Maps and Screenshots Thread, Remi-chan posted four images to show off updated character graphics and backdrops from her current game project.

Upcoming Projects
More work and more occupations have been added by kyonides to his Klans XP project. Tanners, scholars, city watch and more now populate the Klans, regional exploration and scoutshave been added, updated graphis have been implemented, and much more.

Script Requests
As requested by Ace_V, DerVVulfman began Editing the Steal Script by makeamidget & Khatharr to allow stealing weapons & armor. But when he first examined it, DerVVulfman stated the 20 year old script was going to go through a major revision, and has been showing sections he rewrote and reduced in size while working to add the features Ace_V desired.

If you want creepy crawlies in your game, you can now find a squishable cockroach added to the Various RMXP sprites by Ace_V. Added this week by Ace_V, this diminuitive sprite should take up only a miniscule 32x32 tile on the map.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
Quite a varity of tunes have appeared if you were looking for some Original Music and Sound FX. Eric Matyas composed "Pixel City Cruising" which combines a touch of cyber retro atop a heavy drum beat for an urban environment. More light hearted 80s and early 90s vibes can be felt with "Life's Good in Pixeltown". And with a classic one-two drum beat as an accent for an industrial type environment, "Candy Factory" recreates the vibes one may experience when playing chill and relaxing games like "The Lost Vikings". But do not forget, he has a large assortment of sound effects in which to sample.

Art and Design
As promised, new images appeared within DerVV's Stream FrankenArts topic. As SIletrea began playing Monster Hunter World, DerVVulfman sought to capture the feel of the game with large panels and a tiny figure facing towering behemoths. But despite the diminuitive size of her VTuber model, DerVVulfman relayed that Siletrea practically owned the combat whilst on the hunt.

Are you looking for something new in brickwork for a modern city? Are you interested in textures for a highly detailed stonework road? If so, you will want to visit the Massive Library of Free Images that Eric Matyas has been building. Whether traditional red brick, classic brickwork with a blue paintjob applied or more, you should find the recent updates appealing. But Eric did not merely post brickwork, but organic algae-like textures and solid blue stonework as well.

This week we received a sneak peek within Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thing! for her upcoming Valentine's Day art piece. And rather than it being a case of evil doers or kitsune getting together as was the case last year, the piece involves two of Remi-chan's more long term characters.

Literature
If you flipped through the recent pages of Remi-chan's Writing Snippets~, you would come across a scene from Remi-chan's game spin-offs. And with it, you would see one of her established characters receiving a much needed pep talk in her youth.

Filmography
As she has been replacing the pre-battle animated cut-scenes, the footage within Remi-chan's Cinematic Theatre is her current progress before a fight ensues between heroes old and new.

Well, that's it for this week.

Showing up this week within the forum is Rune, though some may recognize him as the spriter Xiie that Remi-chan had repeatedly mentioned within her posts. Rune has some experience with Unity, but also with the RPGMaker series of engines, and would like to finally finish developing an RPG.  Rune was greeted first by AVGB-KBGaming who understood the issues with having deprived sleep.  And then greeted by DerVVulfman who made his appearance later to give others first shots to respond.  Lastly, Remi-chan came in and likewise sympathized with Rune's lack of sleep as a game developer, and knows too well how hard it is to finish a project.

This week's News of the World kicks off with US President Trump's second week as he worked to restore military servicemen discharged over the Covid vaccine, the development of the US version of Israel's Iron Dome, and to remove DEI initiatives. And after two top officials refused to share classified information with DOGE over inefficiency and spending concerns, the Chief of the US Agency for International Development resigned. S Border Patrol returned fire with Mexican Cartel members attempting to smuggle more Illegal Aliens across the border. And as Trump initiates tariffs against Mexico, Canada and China over the rise of human smuggling and Fentanyl poisoning, all three nations vowed matching tariffs. In Europe, two nations along Russia's border vowed to deliver 5% GDP to NATO's Defense Budget, this as Russia retakes a village in the Kursk region and pushes a history that Moscow was forced into a war with Ukraine. However, NATO pleged an additional $42 Billion to Ukraine's defence while North Korean servicemen fighting on behalf of Putin have withdrawn from the area. Following tensions spurred on by China over Taiwan and their recent aggressive and hazardous behavior against Philippines ships in the South China Sea, Japan began deploying anti-air missile along the coast. The eight hostages recently released by Hamas, the fatal collision of a passenger jet and a military helicopter over Washington, D.C., US's Marco Rubio heading to Central America over illegal immigration issues, India's first undersea high-speed rail project nearing completion, and more hit this week's news.

Sometimes, you need a break, and that's what Remi-chan had if you asked her What's Up as an RMer. However, her game is still in the works, and she just received more spritework from her characterset artist, that artist being our newest member Rune.

There has been more developments within the Alpha Release of Klans XP, now adding more war chiefs to the project, new clans, modifictions to the Zone Stats board, added lumber, mining and food production features, and took care of missing resources.

  Script Requests
While working on his gaming project, Ace_V discovered the Steal Script by makeamidget and Khartharr. However, he also found the script relatively limited, and put forth a request to have the Steal Script edited to permit the stealing of weapons and armor. But not only to allow the pilfering of a target's spare gear is desired, but also to be able to inflict damage by way of mugging the target and more.

This week, Ace_V added one more characterset to his collection of Various RMXP sprites, but one more for game system designers rather than for contemporary mappers. For if one is creating on overworld map display, an animated cursor is now available, a cursor with the simple text 'YOU ARE HERE' cleanly rendered.

  Music and Audio
It has been a busy week for Eric Matyas, as he does have clients for his musical work.  However, he still add to the Original Music and Sound FX being Shared. And if you wish to have some late 80s's styled RPG music, "More Puzzle Madness" is perfect for those stuck within an insane and zany labyrinth. Do remember, you too can be one of Eric's clients for custom music.

  Art and Design
If you are working upon a game with a Middle Eastern flare or a cyberpunk game set in a desolate land devoid of water, you will be pleased to visit the Massive Library of Free Images created by Eric Matyas.  This past week, he released two fine sandy textures for those who have need of a desert landscape.  However, if an architecture with very odd stonework is your thing, the three mottled textures belonging to his abstract collection may fit your needs.

Though relatively unproductive this week, Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thingy has a new pencilled sketch of the Corusant Snake Remi-chan presented two weeks prior.

Well, that's it for this week.
