(October 9 to October 15, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

General Chat
Relief was on the mind of DerVVulfman as his recent kitchen power loss was resolved.

This week, the News of the World was tightly focused upon the war between Israel and the Hamas Terror group, though the UK's BBC has vehemently refused to acknowledge Hamas as such. Questions circle the U.S. Administration, for the timing of the $6 Billion released to Iran, but its release of a separate $700 Million to Jihadists in Palestine. Even as U.S. President Biden refuses to freeze the $6 Billion, Senate Republicans proposed legistlature to do just that. Atrocities by Hamas hit the news, threatening live-stream executions of hostages, the discovery of dead infants, and leaving actual knives within the bodies of slain children. Yet with all that, Harvard students, Black Lives Matter and muslims in Australia all side with Hamas. Anti-Semetic violence had risen since Israel declared war following the Hamas attack, France mobilizing 7000 soldiers after a stabbing, an assault against a student in New York, and the evacuation of the Louvre museum itself. And while Israel has been warning civilians to leave the Gaza strip where they plan to attack, Hamas has been making attempts to keep them in place as human shields. Immigration still hit the news this week as Egypt fortifies its own border against a possible flood of immigrants. And after the U.S. Homeland Security finally revealed that 35 thousand criminals were caught sneaking across the border, thousands being so-called 'special interest aliens' from the middle east, a massive call to end Biden's "Catch-And-Release" policy was made. A massive earthquake in Afghanistan, Lebanese officials warning against war with Israel, Iran issuing threats to Israel if it invades Gaza, the loss of Suzanne Somers, the political party shift in New Zealand, calls in France to deport all extremist aliens, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and much more was in this week's news.
*NOTE: The NOTW thread had 18K+ words. The severely condensed blurb in this week's post... 302 words.

Tech Talk
Lawsuits the recent Israeli/Hamas conflict, and disinformation hit the News of the Cyber World this week. Amazon is facing anti=trust lawsuits with third-party companies being forced to pay exorbitant rates and the IRS has charged Microsoft nearly $30Million in unpaid back taxes. Black Lives Matter deleted a tweet showing support for Hamas, and U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar retweeted entirely false information against Israel that Twitter/X confirmed was actually a 2015 Sudanese atrocity. While the E.U. warns Musk and Twitter/X over disinformation threats, Facebook/Meta is actively promoting advertisements to support Israel's destruction. That, AI tools twisting information, Apple Airtags linked to high-tech stalking, and much more was in this week's cybernews.

Games Development
Development Discussion
If you wondered What's up with your fellow RMers this week, kyonides had developed qualms about RPGMakerWeb and how some within found fault with someone whose experience was founded with the Playstation edition and not familiar with the Compress Game Data feature. DerVVulfman expressed his curiosity of the Compress feature, but focused mainly on his WIndows Widgets project, finishing the remake of his scrolling list widget, and began working upon a combo or dropdown list widget. And within two days, Remi-chan made a video about her experience in game development.

A month ago, there was a serious BACKLASH WITH THE UNITY ENGINE OVER A PRICE CHANGE, users finding they were going to have to pay fees for anyone who installed their generated games or software. There was so much outcry that they had to revise the policies and deliver an apology. But this week, the big news was that John Riccitiello, Unity's CEO, announced his retirement.

Who would want to get out during bad weather? Would snowfall not slow you down? That was the premise for the latest update kyonides had given Falkoner. Now for the RMXP and VXAce editions, rainy conditions and snowfall will affect the scouting avian's speed and mobility.

A new visual feature appears within the OpenChest system by kyonides. Now you can update the visual backdrop and text title of the containers.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
For those who seek to craft a game during the spooky month, do remember that Eric Matyas has a collection of Original Music and Sound Effects which includes a Horror category. Again, he chose to re-record two of his works into low-fidelity editions, these being a horrifying climactic piece entitled "Surrealization" and "Castle of Horrors" which could be used for exploring any area filled with the macabre.

Well, that's it for this week.
