Just finished the Mass Effect trilogy. The ending was... a shock. It seems that no matter what you do you can't have a happy ending and after all the build up that's a massive disappointment for me. I was hoping for the end to follow the trend of the whole series - impossible odds are overcome if you try hard enough and believe in yourself and your friends.

And yet, no. No matter which path you take you die, you don't get to live "happily ever after" and that's the end of everything for you.

I bloody loved this trilogy, it was fantastic, momentous, but the ending has left me with a sour taste in my mouth and bitter feelings of regret.
