Okay.... Fileden decided some time ago to change over to some other site and said 'TOUGH!!! YOU GOTTA REUPLOAD YOUR MATERIAL HERE NOW!". Given that, and that they cut out the stuff I liked, I said no way. I went to another known site called RapidShare. Only two weeks ago, I fixed most of my links to match.

Well, as of a couple days ago, they decided to turn themselves into a 'backup-only' site, so anything new I upload.... only I can access with my account. All my existing links still work (for now), but .... really guys?

So now I've begun work on changing all my data to MediaFire.

Use the power of Grayskull!

Or you can back files up the old fashioned way: burn it onto a CD and mail it to whoever wants it.

Well, I have dialup, so I have to use a file sharing service that accepts lower baud rate. Box.Net (until they became Box.Com) used to do that. But as they've changed to Box.Com, they now interrupt my uploads with an annoying 'Proceed, Retry, Stop' pop-up, even for simple scripts. Even worse if it is a demo. And one thing I definitely wish is to have a share site that requires an account (no anonymouse users). In that, MediaFire is doing okay. Hell, I found that uploads were faster at home on dialup than... *gasp* ... on the Comcast High-Speed Internet at work! How does that happen??? Confused

Anyone know how boring it is to spend hours (literally) on repairing links, changing links from RapidShare (and apparently FileDen) to MediaFire? Well, it is BORING!!!!!

As of now, all my RPGMaker XP script and demo links for material I wrote have been updated. I still have RPGMaker VX scripts to update as well as those I've translated or rescued for Archival reasons. Things like Phylomortis threads or stuff by Cogwheel, ParaDog, Near Fantastica, etc.

that's like spending hours reformatting ALL the dialogue you wrote because you never tested it, and it runs out of the text box

At that point you spend an hour or two writing a tool to do text wrapping for you. Or change your font to be smaller! Or make your window bigger.
