 What's on your mind?
Woke up today to my father and someone else taking down the stone pilars at our gateway.
They're still at it and I can hear each hit clearly, since it's really close to my window. And each hit hurts.

I'm the type of person who connects memories and feelings with objects and who grieves about the loss, if the connection is strong enough. I loved the pilars; I grew up with them. They were involved in countless games when I was a child. You could casusally sit on them or savely stand on them and have the highest (outside) view of our street. And they just looked awesome.
Now they are beeing taken away. Just like that and no warning given. I was not even asked what my oppinion about the matter was.
It's not like this is a choice that's not really a choice at all, like felling a loved tree because it's old and could possibly fall over.

I am crying as I write this.
This probably seems unreasonably silly to everyone else. 'Don't be silly.People have much bigger problems. You too, you have other things to worry about and those are actually worrysome. It's just a slight change in design, not the end of the world, right?' But actually, to me it kinda is.
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You, too? Thought I was the only one." (C.S. Lewis)
For the time you're laughing, there's nothing wrong in the world. (Colin Mochrie)

If it's funny, make sure people laugh. If it's not funny, make it funny (unless it's actually really serious). (silvercheers)

Please don't spell my name "Yamina-chan". It's all small. Thank you =D

Eating a high calorie military ration my army buddy gave me. Plus I'm wearing a bandana and some camo pants bought at a surplus store. All I need is some bad ass facial hair and a pack of cigarettes and one might think I'm Solid Snake.

*Om nom nom* Ugh, yuck.

My desktop PC keeps turning itself on for no reason... Does anybody know why? This isn't a new thing I'm just fed up having to get up in the middle of the night to turn it off.

P.S. I have researched this countless times and tried tons of fixes so don't be offended if I say "tried that, it didn't work". But please do suggest ideas!!!

Pull the plug at night?
As for a reason, Cybermen are using your desktop to convert you? Honestly no idea.

Is it a Windows 8 machine? It might be trying to update. Though I think my Windows 7 machine does it after updates as well... The internet says that you can type "powercfg -lastwake" into a command prompt after it's come on for no reason and it should tell you why it turned on.

Also, check your Task Scheduler (type it into the start menu search thing.)

As for what I've been up too; I seem to have a bad habit of ignoring my own projects to work on others. I was up until 4am helping someone recode their runner-type game into actually being playable. It was good fun, but I have a lot of fun stuff I need to do for myself...

Ghosts, clearly it's ghosts.

Try booting it up in safe mode and then use Autoruns. It sounds like there might be some sort of freaky trojan or something. The nice thing about Autoruns is that unlike aggressively zealous anti-virus programs that cause collateral damage it leaves things in the hands of the user. You choose what dies when, no more having your games classified as "dangerous threats", I'm looking at you AVG. *shakes fist*

Aside from that you may want to crack open your machine and look around the power supply area. Might be a loose wire or something sparking a reboot. Kinda like when your car dies and you jump start it, you know?

Thanks for the suggestions, I hadn't tried a couple of those (though I doubt it's a virus, it has always done this).
