The new HBGames Archive Board

Reviewing and seeing the same thing fifty times would probably put me on tilt, as well!

80% is great, though! Thanks for preserving all these tutorials, DerVVulfman. Editor

Guess how many Tutorials are left to snag from HBGames under the aarpgmaker url?

Less than 4%. I literally worked hard to snarf as many as I could. Again, more imageshack, more megaupload. Okay, who the heck uses DL.DROPBOX FOR IMAGE SHARING? Ugh. That was a fail if I saw one.

But there are more mapping and sprite tutorials, some content on oggvorbis loop points, lectures on creating villains and more.

You may want to make that 100 times? Because I have been saying that I've been grabbing HBGames Tutorials whilst it was under its final aarpgmaker url. It had lost some content from its conversion from HBGames.Org to the its final aarpgmaker site. And by that, I will have need to visit the internet archive to search missing Tutorials therein. And even further back, when it was under its original RMXP.Org name.

For an example, Trickster's "General Scripting Conventions" was not present within the tutorials board of the aarpgmaker.url, and was indeed lost in transfer. However, I was aware of its existence and had already snarfed it under its original RMXP.Org url... a url that was thankfully archived and saved.

I cannot guarantee I will grab them all. But I will endeavor to have as much saved.

I CAME. I SAW. I SNARFED.

I have gone through every tutorial of HBGames, under its last url, its rebranding incarnation, and under its original nom de guerre of RMXP.Org. I grabbed all that can be saved, I cried wihen tutorials were based solely upon graphic posts when the image-sharing services folded and refused access. I groaned when individuals decided to post a link to a demo that they themselves later deleted. And I grimaced when content was nothing more than off-site links to barren landscapes.

But be that as it may, over two hundred and fifty tutorials were saved, including some that even members of HBGames thought were no longer possible to save. The site now has the 2006 tutorial entitled "Demystifying the Game Process" by ccoa herself, lost not long after the rebranding to HBGames. Admittedly, her tutorial had a vast number of image files that had too vanished. But her tutorial now resides here.

Much of the tutorials focused around RPGMaker XP and RPGMaker VX. Only a sparce handful were made for anything newer as there were server issues for some time, roughly the same time as RPGMaker was announced. However, there are some RPGMaker VXAce and MV tutorials within just the same.

But at last, the garnering of the HBGames content is done.

Still, work must continue as all the threads show myself as the topic author with 2025 dates. This must be fixed, properly establishing the thread authors and having the actual date of the topics' corrected.

Um... that will be done a little later. Blushing + Cheery

Er... no. Not my type.

Any cute redhead werewolf girls out there??? *HOWUUU!!!!*

But I did speak too soon. In the incarnation before HBGames used the aarpgmaker.com url, they had two other game-development subforums, one for GameMaker and one for Construct2.

Now Construct2 has been discontinued, a Construct3 engine in its place. But that would not normally detract me from acquiring the handful of tutorials that existed. What did prevent me from acquicing the tutorials was that the demos for every Construct 2 tutorial no longer existed and could not be saved/archived in any way.

That left the GameMaker tutorials. Well, only one was not available. And that left half-a-dozen by Wyatt/Ellie/Princess Amy.

Meanwhile, there was a separate board for RPGMaker that I had not touched, one to extend the capabilities of RPGMaker. Within, there is a patch to correct the "SHOW TEXT" window and allow the full 4 lines of text as it should. This patch I had not tested. But three other topics were also added, all with working download links.

And with that, the only thing I DO have left is to correct the username and timestamps to match!
