 IRS Scam Beware!!!
#1
Exclamation
There's a new scam out there where some dudes were pretend to be the IRS and try to intimidate you into paying their extortion. It's currently happening to me so I thought I'd record one of my phone "conversations" and let people know what to watch out for.

These guys always call you in the middle of the night, (in an Indian/Middle-Easter accent), and threaten you about your "tax evasion". They can get pretty nasty sometimes. If you're an immigrant they'll threaten to deport you back to your original country, if you're a senior they'll threaten to take away your social security and medical benefits, and for everyone else they'll threaten to have you arrested and take away your house.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!

First of all the real IRS prefers to conduct it's business by mail not phone. And on the rare occasion that they actually do call they will only call your house phone during business hours. These guys call you at night on your cellphone.

The real IRS will also never ask you for your personal information over the phone, especially credit card numbers. They will always ask you to come to your local office and take care of things face to face.

And not to sound racist here but the IRS doesn't have an Indian accent. XD

So if you get one of these phone calls be vary. Ask them little questions like the name of their supervisor, their case numbers, things a real IRS agent can answer immediately.

This scam has apparently raked in about $5 million from unsuspecting victims so far.

A similar thing happened to a friend of mine too, actually. It is a frustrating thing, especially as it is not as easy to report these.
None the less, it is fun to watch someone deal with these scammers who knows exactly what's up.

(Here#s said friend, handeling a similar call, from a difftrent type of scammers)
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You, too? Thought I was the only one." (C.S. Lewis)
For the time you're laughing, there's nothing wrong in the world. (Colin Mochrie)

If it's funny, make sure people laugh. If it's not funny, make it funny (unless it's actually really serious). (silvercheers)

Please don't spell my name "Yamina-chan". It's all small. Thank you =D

whelp, you gotta remember that since the avg. iq in 'murica is 100, half the people in this country are dumber than that. whenever i get strange calls, i pretend im the director of the Heavenly Transcendental suicide cult. it gets me off the call lists pretty quick.
