I run into problems when trying to extract the files. The program just freezes over before finishing the operation.

shit. do you have the rtp? all i did was compress the data. what else do i need to do?

I do.

Also, after trying several times, I noticed the program stops working just when it's about to extract the RTP Standard file.

I don't know how, but it worked now. I'm playing as I post this.

I'll post my impressions later.

Edit: I've played a bit, so now I offer my impressions so far:

- Villageburg reminds me that I really have to improve the town design on my project.
- The urine-soaked "ghost cape" is still hilarious.
- The whole thing involving the wizard turned rock is odd yet interesting.
- Strayer sure liked that weathervane.
- I like the enemies design so far.
- Surprising the enemy surprised me as well. Brings back memories of RPG2K.
- I actually underestimated the fights and that quickly led into a premature game over in the forest. I'll be more careful now.
- I think I recognized the battle theme of that gruesome tree. It's on the tip of my tongue.
- Now I'm on my way to Marshton.

I liked it so far and I haven't run into any bug that need reporting.

did you make it all the way through the forest maze?

I believe I did.

I even got crispy squirell bits for my troubles that I completely forget to mention in my previous post. I also noticed some severe slowdown at Marshton, not helped at all by those horrid frostmen that keep one-shooting poor Strayer.

the slowdown was inevitible. did you like the lighthouse and blizzard?

The lighthouse effect was pretty awesome and so was the blizzard. It does setup the situation quite well.

I run into some glitches, though:

- If you return to the town after delivering the supplies without beating the ice demon first, an invisible guard won't let you cross the bridge to the buried part of the town again.
- Plenty of weird black block all over the ice cave:

- The fighters disappeared during the fight against Icee:
