 What's on your mind?
I've heard about this and a lot of the channels that I watch have gotten tons of their videos pulled. Not even let's plays but reviews with trailers or in game footage! YT will be replaced eventually if they keep this up. I wonder if it is happening to other channels that show movie trailers or other forms of entertainment or is it just games.

I agree it's ridiculous, I too ALWAYS watch videos of games before I buy them. I really prefer to buy a game after informing myself about the game-play etc, not just what the publisher wants to show me in a staged video/trailer.

YT channels hosting game music have also bitten the dust. It seems that Youtube is hell bent on taking everything related to games off the site.

I guess they don't like having that image, it might be a marketing thing (with a long term goal that hurts in the short-term).

To be fair, they are taking down Let's Plays AND video game music for the same reason. Someone somewhere uploaded video game music to Youtube's content ID system, and now robots are flagging those videos as violating copywrite.

It boggles the mind how horribly faulty YouTube's auto-flag system really is. Even more baffling is the fact YT doesn't seem to care enough to fix it, despite all the backlash.

Aye, but it's really efficient for them instead of having biased mods make decisions... instead you get a system that people can use to censor others...
It's very cost inefficient for google to have people day in and day out check if the reported content actually violates the rules.

Eek, is everything ok?

On a lighter note, DerVVulfman found me the perfect avatar so I'll be using it on forums for a while. :D

Good point. It would be practically imposible to have human staff moderating a site as big as Youtube. Alas, we will have to bite the bullet since there isn't any alternative when it comes to videogame-friendly hosting sites (Vimeo doesn't allow anything related to games to be uploaded and Daily Motion's moderation system is even worse than YouTube's).
