Well, I bid you 'welcome' to the Windows 10 thread, now in Tech Talk. Six categories (including Operating Systems) with their own prefix icons (OS has the big three symbols in there), each identified in the top of the board in its rules window.

Well, I wasn't gonna single anyone out (that I know of).
Meanwhile, I made a series of stickies in the board, each related to one of the main categories (except other). Empty nowm but the intent is to have a 'list of available...' content each. The main 1st post being a contents page, all subsequent posts contains content on one item. As an example, the Security thread would have an index post, a post about Avast, a post about BitDefender, a post about AdAware... one per. Maybe a simple recommend/rebuke block at the bottom of each post?

I'm not sure I follow how you envision this board being used. Is it less about discussion and more about an information centre? If so, indexing everything makes sense. However if it is to allow for discussion then why have index top posts? If each topic is not its own mini forum then there's no point breaking things down so much, just let people use the prefixes to keep track, no?
Or maybe I've completely misunderstood. Very possible, I'm a little hung-over.

		Oh, discussion obviously.
It's just that the stickies at the top would be an index of services out there which members may wish to peruse. I just gotta figure out how to handle the stickied index system.

we really should avoid sub-threads unless we end up with enough content to warrant it.

Do know:
PayPal charges me 3-5% per successful transaction. ( 2.99% domestic US, everywhere else it varies - although AU seems to be more like 1.5% )
Stripe charges me 2.9% + $0.30 per successful domestic transaction. More for people paying from outside the US
With the average donation size, Stripe eats up about 30% of the donation. Please only use it if you have to, and if you
do, please consider a larger donation to make up for transaction fees.
