Man, Mack and Blue chipsets were truly the backbone of the map-making community back then. Honestly, I prefer this kind of graphic style compared to what the modern makers (RMXP and onwards) offer.
It's what inspired me to create a postgame dungeon in my game using resources (tilesets, charsets monsters, etc) from the RM2K/2K3 era.
Sometimes I wish I had known about those world map tiles. I always end up making my own and they take a long time to plan out and make. However, while it's not as cool as those, I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. (Disregard the small-but-still-too-large-treasure chests )
I think you guys need to take another look at the site that I linked where it says CLICKIE. REFMAP also has VX tilesets and some MV content. Now VX is traditionally blocky and the animation system operates on a 3-frame pattern(2-1-2-3) rather than a 4-frame pattern(1-2-3-4), the textures of the grasslands, the brickwork and like is still 32px based and could be adapted.
Their terms are that everything is usable, just give em credit.

Let me quote your previous post so it's on this page along with the CLICKIE link.

They often chose a dark teal color for their transparent background rather than the bright peach pink, using pink only three times throughout their sets.
REFMAP is actually still up, but under a different URL now (CLICKIE). Or at least their last update was January 2026.
And their RM2K sample game has all their 2000 resources.
You can see WHY it would be a prized collection. All the Mack and Blue works are of this level.
I took a bit of a DAY off of translating. Well, after the hell of the base message system. But first of the OOFSPRINGS (thank's Ace_V) has been finished. It allows for player movemetn while the player is moving and icons in messages... so very much like the Dubealex, Ccoa and Wachunga systems at the least. Only the exterior graphic file system is the (semi) unique feature.
*When working on ReGaL, I was working with adding SFonts in its message system*
The next OOFSPRINGS seem... if I'm reading the Japanese correctly (GASP!?!?!) ... they seem worthless. BUT need translating anyway.
And yes, you're right. While I'm not an overt fan of the VX look, I reckon I could use some of those tilesets as soon as I find a VX to XP tileset converter (I've already got one for charsets).
Also, kind of curious as to why RefMap seemed to have skipped developing for XP. But again, the comparisons make me realize that when it comes to graphic style, VX is closer to RM2K than XP as far as I can see.

Well, today I translated from Japanese...
A script that keeps a log of past show-text messages in case you hit enter too early...
A script to give your cutscenes black bars at the top and bottom for that 'widescreen' effect while making your text look like closed captions
A patch to work with someone else's speech balloon system (that I haven't found)
Picture flipping
An odd end-result for attempted diagonal movement
Dashing (and yeah... why NOT use ENTER/DECISION to run fast? Why did everyone else think SHIFT?)
Idle animations for the player.
Sadly, one of the scripts in this collective had vanished. Not pixel-movement per-say, but partial tile movement, whereby you moved like 8px at a time rather than a whole 32px tile, and with much smoother animation from all descriptions. It was something I was thinking of, but never got around. And dangit, SOMEONE must have it!
Tomorrow? Something I am dreading. Not because of what it is, but what it entails. Multiple thousand-line sets of scripts for weapons. It has OOF-springs! Here's hoping it doesn't have element tagging.
