RMRK is closing

And now, the entire RESOURCES forum in the RMRK Archive Board have had their content set to their original creators, and their timestamps properly set. Yep, it took literal hours to deal with them all. However, some of the resources were attributed to members of OUR forum, including Lunarea, Reives and Bravo2Kilo.

Time for the GoodNews/BadNews.

I have now applied proper attribution to all event systems saved within the RMRK archive. That means any RPGMaker XP, VX or VXAce event system post now gives full post ownership to the 'guest' owner of the original thread from RMRK, be it VianoceGames, Nessiah, jameswhite89 or Grafikal.

And with that, the original timestamp/date of the thread was corrected to match the original. And insofar as any remaining attribution, only the three Scripts Databases for these engines needs to be covered.

However, there is some painful news.

If you have gazed through the archive as of recent, many images are not showing. It is not your browser as I have tested with Firefox, Chrome, Seamonkey, Edge and DuckDuckGo, but an apparent issue with the image hosting site. My tests not only took place at my home, but offsite at a public library with roughly the same results.

Even worse, I found that many free image hosting sites are suffering such a malady. As such, all 2200+ images I had rescued from Photobucket and some scraped from now-extinct sites are now needing a different host.

Unless the issue is fixed, I will need to once-more use IMGUR for all 2200+ images despite the irreconcilable differences between it and the UK. But of free hosting that supports animation, no cap limits and other required conditions, IMGUR appears the best possible solution.

I will still wait a couple of weeks to see if the issue with the imagehost in use resolves the issue. But I am being realistic about the chance of resolution.

Good News, weird news time.

GOOD NEWS! All of the RPGMaker XP scripts now display the original author as the owner of their related post. Or a so-named guest account at the very least. And on top of that, every RPGMaker XP script also has the original timestamp applied. As an example, the Ammo Requirements script by Syntheize (as guest_Synthesize) shows its original 2007 date.

Now for the weird news time.

It appears, at least right now, that PostImage has finally gotten its act together and is showing the images properly. Its nothing on my end, or your end. But their end. It was working fine all day yesterday until roughly 7 to midnight (EST) yesterday. But working fine all day today. Whatever has been messing with numerous image hosting sites might be DONE, or at least finally handled by PostImage.

Good. I didn't wanna re-upload 2200 images elsewhere :P

This is neat!! It was nostalgic to see the Regen/Auto-Life script by Sir_Edeon (well, guest_Sir_Edeon now) in the RMRK archive as I applied that very same script to my project twenty years ago.  Incredible

Let alone, Sir_Edeon's post being the OLDEST FREAKIN RMXP POST IN THE BOARD!!!!

Took all day, but I now have given the proper attribution to every RPGMaker VXAce script in the RMRK archive. Every thread owner's name now assigned (as a guest or otherwise). And every timestamp accurately redefined.

It took a long time. Its 11:27... and I started at 9ish this morning. AHHH!!

And that means RPGMaker VX is the last... and 50% larger.

Well, I whittled down the VX scripts. What remains is still larger than what the RPGMaker XP scripts were in size. And I think the bulk of the scripts within were all by modern algebra. He was quite known for hanging there exclusively.

But yeah, my eyes were going buggy... what do you expect. Laughing + Tongue sticking out

Dear friends,

It has been two and a half months since I announced that the indie game development forum, RPG Maker Resource Kit, announced it would vanish by the end of the year.  No accounts can be made as the site has already ended the ability to create new accounts, nor to make any additional posts since its announcement of the site coming to a halt.

However, within the same ten weeks that has passed since RPG Maker Resource Kit made its lamented announcement, work began to compile and collect all of the game development material held within its library.

An archive for RMRK was borne, creating subforums within for its RPGMaker Resoures, scripts and plugins. And in that time, nearly one thousand posts filled with material was recreated.  It took roughly two months to download the content from the vanishing website and to remake them anew. And then two more weeks were spent to correct attributes of the recreated posts, applying the names of the original authors as well as the origin dates of their content.

But at last, it is done. Though  RPG Maker Resource Kit is slated to vanish from the internet by the end of the year, all content that was able to be salvaged was acquired and the archive is as complete as it will ever be.

AS A REMINDER:

The Archives board is only for fully registered and recognized members. Merely creating an account does nothing but set one up as a newcomer. Full membership privileges only comes after one introduces themselves within our Occasions forum with their 'non-spam' based debut thread. This is part of an anti-spambot policy. Save-Point revserves the right to delete intentional spam-based introductions and revert accounts from full membership.

It doesn't have RMRK in the image yet... but perhaps in a bit i'll make a gif that rotates the archived site names.

It and others are in our  .BANNERS.  menu option at the top
