Took a break. Took a plunge.

Now reconstructed are the "Event Systems" databases for RPGMaker XP and VX engines. Given that the forum was pretty much founded with RPGMaker VX was introduced, it should be known that there are more VX event systems and scripts than for any other engine. And I have yet to touch the VX scripts. But despite the quantity therein, few now use RPGMaker VX, so its not that high a priority compared to other works.

I have, however, begun work on the resources board. And I have completed the "Miscellaneous" subforum which contains some tools here and there, including links to a FREE and OFFICIAL copy of FL Studio. Version 7, but still FL studio.

:P I thought it was Saturday when doing it. :D Realized it was Friday, I'm a little ahead of schedule. ....

Whatever the heck schedule I even have that is....

Today, I worked on reconstruction of RMRK's Audio Resources subforum and the System Subforum for their Graphics Resources forum.

RMRK's Graphics forum is broken into four sections, Graphics, Characters, Battlers and System.  The system subforum had a number of windowskins and some Title and Gameover screens.  In fact, I was able to use the internet archive in tandem to recover the Gameover screens by our own rGangsta, his post in our forum used TinyPic links and rediscovery to restore his content was a blessing.

He thought so to... Having just told him at roughly 3pm (EST today). 

  niiice!  They shall live on!

So... well, I decided to begin tackling the Battler subforum.   Um, the very first topic...    ... had 99 individual graphics to upload and post.  ONE TOPIC... NINETY NINE GRAPHICS.

And it had 99 graphics because five of them were unrecoverable!!!  A monster! 

And Battler is the smaller of the other subforums...

Today, I finished off the battler graphics subforum in the RMRK restoration task, and it was a headache. 

But now I am working upon the Mapping subforum. And with that, it was again the first thread to tackle that gave me...  .   While the topic had a lot of posts, it was worse in that they were "watermark-laiden" photoshop  resources.  And with that, I had to work through the Internet Archive in hopes to find older images prior to the application of the offending graphic.

I have restored roughly half of the mapping threads.  However, the other half ... are watermark/photoshop filled posts.

Today.... the Mapping Subforum of Graphic Resources have been finished being reconstructed in the RMRK archive. It was hell.

Ugh... Near every thread remaining had the watermarks. And even if you are able to visibly remove the Photobucket watermark on the screen, one needs to ensure the file saved isn't a .webp file when a .png is desired. This because its compressing the .png file and damaging it in the same manner as a .jpg. It takes a little extra to get the image un-touched and un-aliased. So much fun when you have triple-digit quantities of image files to save.

My next task will be the characters and facesets subforum.... which appears to have 50% more threads to recreate.

And it only just dawned on me.... ... I didn;t ust skip doing the RMVX scripts but neglected the RMXP scripts too... those need to be recreaed as WELL as the complete games section after this.

Well... I will follow it up by saying...

... I spent over four hours on one individual's thread whereby he had over 300 images that were uploaded to Photobucket. And if I just did the cursory 'save' to my HDD or drag n drop the image, those images would have been copied over as webp files. Over four hours, and a large chunk of that was to ensure the pure .png image was being saved and not what Photobucket was offering.

The RPG MAKER RESOURCE KIT (RMRK) ARCHIVE BOARD IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING.

As per usual, fully registered accounts only. Making an account is still only the first step as the second is to create a "Greetings" post within our Official Area >> Occasions board. This assists in reducing the number of persistent advertisement bots. Valid greetings only as per the clearly defined RED HIGHLIGHTED explanations shown both in the registration page and main board.

The RMRK Archive is not as yet complete. It has all of the available and salvageable content from its Resources sub-forums, and game development content from RPGMaker VXAce on up. However, the RPGMaker XP and RPGMaker VX script forums have little content of which to speak. And the Completed Games board has nothing as yet. However, most of the games I was able to secure content is fairly old. Also, roughly half of the games that were posted at RMRK had matching, if not newer, posts in other forums and had no need of being reproduced with lesser quality content.

Meanwhile, thread author attribution and original timestamp data has not been applied. But while every thread posted currently bares my name, each thread has the username of the thread's original author and the Date/Time of the content's posting (in the EST timezone). This will be resolved at a later date once all of the remaining content has been posted.

NOTE: Unless the source thread has working/valid and un-watermarked images (oft from Imgur, their personal ITCH, or the like), graphic images have been saved and uploaded to PostImages. While having a slower transfer speed, it is brandished as a free service with no image expiry date. This was used for the multitude of Photobucket images after the removal of the "Photobucket" or "Groupsy" watermark, and ensuring that the images were kept in their original .png format and not the compressed .webp format that is not lossless as prior advertised.

NOTE: I have downloaded the webpages from RMRK, either from the site itself or by links going to archived threads stored within the Internet Archive. The eldest/earliest postings of the threads can oft be obtained.
