 Legends of the Flaming Falcons

You can, though I'll let you know I usually use names inherited from specific languages and mythology to denote certain different cultures. The name you mention is a last name from the obscure dialect I speak where I live and means "flower" or "flour" (both words are written and pronounced the same in Dutch, which the dialect is akin to).
Story-wise, this meaning fits the character as his greatest motivation has a nature-like connotation.

would you have a guy named Smith who is Smithian from the kingdom of Smith? oh and his job is a smith. That sounds bland.

now I understand what you mean, but there are other words of natural connotation, my point is you can use different words of the same connotation like Blomme from the kingdom of Gardenia, and his species is Herbovus... any language really, and if you want to portray him as dutch, you can use various dutch words, but it's somewhat bland to have your species the same as your name and your kingdom too.

now, these are merely simple suggestion, and I only want to help you.

rgansta is right about mapping, although it's not bad, you could do some more work with it.

This map seems to lack detail, it's a wide open space in a town/city which is quite rare, places that have that are either under populated or very wealthy, and even then it's rare. Try adding different types of floor tiles, monuments, buildings and the like.

This one is meant to be a "natural" place yet the edges are completely square. Try and keep natural places rather random (yet not random since plants of one type often grow in groups, so on and so forth).

Good luck and keep it up!

my suggestion for the mapping is to take reccommendations from this guy: http://www.rmxp.tigerseye.uk.com/tutorial_map0.shtml

Thank you for your suggestions, I'll see how I can improve it in the best way possible.

My map screenies are outdated though, I'll try to get around to updating them once I get back on a decent connection.
I'd be glad if you could check them out then and show me some ways of improvement then.
