Funding State
Well, save-point has lost half it's funding.... so I'm no longer pulling in enough to maintain server bills. But fear not, I pulled in a bunch during the first week, so I have enough to keep us going for a little while.
What I'm currently working on
Given that our current forum software is full of bugs and development is basically on life support... I've been working on a method to get us converted over to other software that is more actively maintained, uses modern coding practices, and has been around longer than MyBB. I figure if we utilize something with a more active community behind it, we'll be better off. There are some migration solutions for it, but they don't exactly work with the current releases of either platform so I'm trying to modify it in a VM where I have a clone of the site using one of the database backups. It has not exactly gone well so I have nothing to show for it at this time. I will continue to iron out the bugs.
Once I have a working solution, I'll put the board into maintenance mode, take another backup, do the migration in a VM, and image the VM. I can then upload the VM image to my cloud provider and make it live. This way if it messes up, I don't risk not having a known good install to fall back to. Wish me luck. Oh, and if you're feeling generous, hit the donate button on the upper right side of the page and follow the instructions on how to put money in my pocket, or follow this link: https://ko-fi.com/strangeautomaton/goal?g=40

With the average donation size, Stripe eats up about 30% of the donation. Please only use it if you have to, and if you
do, please consider a larger donation to make up for transaction fees.
