With the fables of February behind us, the ides of march begin! I have elected to call this month: Mammal March!
Because of reasons!
At most five hours of work, and given the more minimal and simplistic design of the character and the lack of need for complex anatomical fidelity- it kinda makes sense why. The whiplash going from one of the most ambitious pieces I've ever attempted like the Kloe above to this simple peanut-headed stub-armed cartoon canine was a juxtaposition so extreme it's little wonder it got done in under a third of the time.
Below is a 7 minute timelapse of the sub-5 hours process. The initial sketch was done without being timed, but i doubt it would have been anywhere close to even half an hour, and the two digital recordings were about two hours each. The absolute highest amount of time this could have taken is 5 hours. You get just over four in the speed draw which is yes, compressed down to 7 little minutes.
So what's next for mammal march, you ask.
Hmm... Just a peek~
