(August 21 to August 27, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
New to the forum comes Ringalong of RingalongGames, he has a website for his recent games and found us during a search for some plugins. After asked by DerVVulfman, Ringalong said he was just finishing TheQuestion's Quest of Sin and was remastering his Super Piracy Quest series of games. Do know, he does love his unfair deathtraps, but said rewards for survival are glorious. And his expertese is with RPGMaker VXAce, messing with the core system itself.

General Chat
Right now, thoughts of finances and flights of fancy wereon the mind of some members. Kyonides only just bought a games and resources pack for another collection of games and resources to go on sale. Meanwhile, Remi-chan's mind is a swirl between shorts being worn by some members, and very odd fluffy cloud designs.

It was not that long ago that the Wagner Group's march towards Moscow hit the News of the World. But now, after the surrender, the leader had mysteriously died in a plane crash, President Putin giving his regards. The wildfire that ravaged Maui is the site to backlash as FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) put workers in 5-star hotels while survivors are struggling. And the electric company responsible removing evidence of the blaze's origin. US President Biden's words may bite him soon, his recent statements to citizens of Maui leaving a bad taste in their mouth while the former Ukrainian Prosecutor comes forward in an interview, accusing Biden of pay-for-play corruption. Following the coup in Niger, the coups very leader feels the Military Junta won't last more than 3 years. Meanwhile, the Junta gave the French Ambassador 48 hours to leave Niger, an authority that France does not recognize. Cartels along the southern U.S. border hanging bodies in a display of terror, Iran saying the return of hostages may take months after the Biden payout, the death of legendary "The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker, and much much more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
News about restraining A.I. hit the News of the Cyber World, first with that art generated with A.I. cannot be copyrighted, and later how China's restricting its usage to replace human judgement. Meanwhile, AI crafted spambots are flooding into Social Media harder than before. Child care hit the news also as Google may be investigated for violating child privacy laws and a new study suggests a direct link betwen online time and social development shortcomings with children. Online censorship too hit the cybernews as Google is unmasked for low-prioritizing Republican and RFK Jr search results, Facebook revealed to be influencing proposed laws in Australian, and documents uncovered showing the U.S. Biden Administration seeking a deal with China to spy and censor Americans with TikTok. Even more censorship from the U.N itself, the Biden DOJ suing Musk over not hiring illegal aliens which itself violates federal law, Charity Doners from Australia leaked on the Dark Web, and more hit this week's cyber news.

While the attacks may be against specific targets using China-bourne Cobra DocGuard software, it appears that unknown Chinese Hackers are working agaisnt the file protection of supply chain targets in Hong Kong and abroad. Given that Hong Kong has been more critical of China, it may be considered a target of mainland China despite itself a province.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Game development is always What's up with our RMers, though kyonides is more concerned with bug reports and error detection systems. Meanwhile, remi-chan is less concerned with scripts as she events much of the work, and entered discussion with one of her newly revealed characters.

Complete Projects
An artistic move towards the human touch, Starmage reveals that the assets of Rave Heart are now again those made by we mortals, while also supplying a free download link for the overhaul assets.

Upcoming Projects
War tears apart the land and many in turmoil are turning their backs on the church towards other beliefs. So it appears within The Slleeping Hummingbird, the third within Carlos_Davilla's "Essay on Insipidity" series that began with engine trials in late 2020, and continued in mid 2021 with part II. All his games use the engine's RTP, but now more ambitious with side quests, crafting, reputation systems and more.

As of now, Stellar Bewitching αΩ (Remastered) is now available on steam. However a retraction from last week's edition which suggested that it be a completed project. The game is one crafted with RPGMaker MZ filled with teenage drama, romance, aliens and more.

Within kyonides lecture upon Ruby Scripting, he points out that there is little difference between patches and bug fixes. However, he suggests that so-called patches be made as separate works and not be part of a script as he suggests a patch could interefere with other existing works.

Material Development
Kyonides performed more work on the linux port of HiddenChest RGSS Player Executable, adding in the ability output bitmaps, and generate a list of prefered image file formats. However, DerVVulfman came across a bug with the 64-bit windows build, supplying the event code, an uploaded demo and two videos. Kyonides notes the error, saying the bug does not exist with the Linux build but admits the bug exists still within the Windows build. On the other hand, the suggestion DerVVulfman made about combining the configuration file with the Game.Exe file appeared much easier to accomplish..

Scripts Database
Sharina's Screen-Saves by DerVVulfman went through two more updates. First, it was made aware that cloud services had issues with the temporary files generated and needed a recognized prefix in front of the file names so cloud services would not have issue. Then a change was made to the screen-capture system to accommodate RPGMaker XP clones that added the same-said script and not interfere otherwise.

Kichi's Kached Audio by DerVVulfman too went through an update, dealing with the same issue involving cloud services and the temporary files the system would make during audio playback. But more, he included two small demos showing how the system would encrypt the audio, the second actively using just the .rgsaad file and required game files alone.

Kyonides' Falkoner just became ported to RPGMaker XP, able to trigger events on the map and having gone through a later update to smooth out the avian's flight.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
While Eric Matyas tends to work with high quality audio,he does realize that some scenes in a game may have need for a little off-quality work. So do not worry if something you want must go from CD-quality to a more 80s radio format. You can find that he also Shares his Original Music in lo-fi format when available, such as "NightTime Escape" in his action page, and "Corporate Espionage", "Alley Grunge" and others within the third page of his Urban sounds listings. But more too exists.

Literature Section
If you are interested with the next chapter of Fantasia, feel free to drop in to read some of Remi-chan's Writing Snippets~. Be warned that it includes the first appearance of a girl clearly known Mad who wishes to uncover some truths. And one must wonder about the sanity for that which created the Vaunus Prophecy itself.

Well, that's it for this week.
