(August 7 to August 13, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
General Chat
Payments ill advised and corrupt his the News of the World as U.S. President Biden mimicks his previous boss, both in giving billions to Iran and investing in green energy companies already going bankrupt. But not alone with money, Socialist Bernie Sanders took $200K of campaign finances and put it in the family's non-profit company, and a Mississippi Democratic candidate was found to have taken cash from a Chinese-backed tycoon linked to the Biden family. Legal actions also hit the news as Rand Paul seeks Perjury charges against Dr. Antony Fauci, noting evidence and eMails exist that proves he lied to congress. Of documentation, Jim Jordan now has records from multiple FBI offices showing that contradict FBI Chief Christopher Wray's testimony that Catholics weren't being labeled as dangerous radicals. China calls out both Japan and the U.S. for having talks with Taiwan's President and Vice President, even as the nation seeks to buy oil from Russia. Six men arrested for the assassination of an Ecuadorian Presidential candidate, FTX's Bankman-Fried's bail revoked over witness tampering, and more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
Social media always seems to highlight the News of the Cyber World whether it be eMails showing Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs wanting Twitter to censor critics, or that Twitter's rebranding to "X" appears to be a boon to the social media company. However, it was not good news for electric cars this week, whether it be Elon Musk's self-driving vehicles, or the extreme overhead of owning a new Ford F150. The shooting of a Utah Man accused of threatening the U.S. President on social media, Virgin Galactic's first space-faring tourists, and more hit this week's news.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Updates and utilities were What's up with your fellow RMers as Steel Beast 6Beets searched for the program known as the Resource Wizard, all links online found dead. However, he did make backup of content he had on a previous PC. Remi-Chan has been working on her game, updating preious content and updating her Youtube channel's opening video. But with that, another video she released expanded upon the relationship between teen-age sisters and a pre-teen child they rescued that had some cutting jabs at the younger, brattier sister. Meanwhile, DerVVulfman continues tinkering with his Windows-objects script, making a functional scrolling list box that is resizable, able to have all visual accents changed on the fly, and a thorough list of properties that can be changed.

Material Development
Scripts Database
After almost a decade, DerVVulfman returned to fix a number of issues with The Lycan ABS, primarily centered around the creation of close-quarter combat skills. He also tackled issue that involved companions unable to fight if ordered to attack when it is impossible, allow enemies to re-evaluate targets, updated the enemy hatred and fear systems, and gave companions the ability to randomly choose what skills they may employ.

For his Lycan ABS, DerVVulfman developed a script to let one identify the orders party members were given. Entitled Lycan Companion Icons, it places icons within the traditional menu screens.

Within the recent updates of KBlockStates, you can designate specific skills with the "All Enemies" scope to apply effects on dead enemies, whether it be use of note boxes for VXAce or checking off the appropriate state box within XP.

The OtherLayers by kyondes went through various changes this week, whether it be multiple upper layers, updates to the spriteset code, and recent corrections involving method names.

This week, kyonides ported his RandomBGM to both RPGMaker XP and RPGMaker VX. they too now able to play randomly chosen field music in field maps..

If you ever wanted to set up an event to move about the map, but stay within a certain confined area, then perhaps the EventRegionBox script for RPGMaker VXAce is for you. By kyonides, it allows for one to create multiple region areas within a map. Updates were made, adding new features and simplifying its use to simple note-box use within your chosen events.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
Two new tunes pieces of music have appeared if you appreciate how Eric Matyas Shares His Original Music. The first one gives one a sense of Paris and is entitled "On the Trail with the Inspector". And the other named "Chuggin' Through Columbia" has a light latin beat.

Special Projects
ReGaL (RPG Game Lab)
The Talk Box
While Kain Nobel found that the 2022 REGAL Restart was taking off quite well, hard financial times hit and members of his family had to return home from the economic pressures. He would love to return to working upon ReGaL, but had others he must now consider. He may look to others to continue where he left off if possible.

Well, that's it for this week.
