(July 24 to July 30, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
General Chat
Ending was the things On the Minds of some Save-Poiint members. For Kain Nobel, it is the ending of his cigarette habit, thanking his family who gave him the strength. And for kyonides, it is the ending of game development as the official forum for enterBrain's product was down for a few hours making him ponder about emulators for older established games.

What's old is new. Is that the way the saying goes? For DerVVulfman, if you asked him "What are YouTubing?", that may not be the case as someone thought the new version of Dune should instead use effects that are nearly fourty years old.

This week's News of the World began with endings. It began with the untimely end of Fomer President Obama's personal chef who drowned in a boating accident. To the middle of the week, it saw the unraveling of US President Biden's plea deal. And towards the end, the passing of the co-Founder of the rock band, But as the son of the US President saw his plea deal fall apart, so did former President Trump's lawsuit against CNN as the Judge stated all claims made against him were opinion pieces and not brought up as actual news. And the Biden DOJ has now dropped charges against disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who was also a Democrat super-doner. What is up right now are the crimes occuring in US urban cities like Chicago and San Francisco, the thousands of gang members on trial in of El Salvador, and the near 45,000 members within the Sinaloa Cartel and Cartel Jalisco New Generation, the number in which the Mexican President claims is inaccurate. An armed coup taking place in Niger while the nation's elected president held captive, Ukraine using even North Korean-made missiles to fight Russian aggression, the U.S. DOJ sending prison orders for a Whistleblower scheduled to testify before Congress this up-coming Monday, strung-out Cocaine Sharks and much more hit this week's news.

Tech Talk
Hackers from all over dominated the News of the Cyber World early this week, be it fraudulent job offers, threats to GitHub, an unrepairable vulnerability to WhatsApp, or the 400 entities hacked by the Russian CL0P Ransomware group. Mark Zuckerberg's Meta hit this week's cybernews as documents and eMails from Facebook now reveal the Biden Administration's pressure to censor free speech, while Meta has been slapped with a $20 Million fine in Australia for data harvesting. And while China is using TikTok to push propaganda to millions in Europe, France filed charges against Chinese and French citizens in military tech smuggling. Bans to halt genetic tech in China, warnings of incorrect AI-based medical notations, and more hit this week's cybernews.

Just as there are ransomware groups in Russia, so too are there Chinese Hackers. the APT41 State-Sponsored group began targeting Android devices with new spyware that resemples legitimate phone apps, the spyware collecting all records and vocal recordings for the CCP. And a May breach of the U.S. government email system by China's Storm-0558 hacking group compromised more services than expected, including many of Microsoft's Outlook.com mail systems.

Games Development
Development Discussion
One may need to step away from actually working, lest development burn-out set in. So it is understandable that asking about other PC games may be What's up with RMers like kyonides. Or, it may be just something as simple as artwork in place of game editing for Remi-chan, though her art foreshadows an up and coming project.

Material Development
Scripts Database
A user of RPGMaker VXAce once asked kyonides for a system to let an object fly freely in the sky with it only able to land where the player is currently standing. Thus Falkoner was borne. Early on, it required an emergency upgrade to take care of bugs, but later editions handled the ability of the free flying character to interact with objects and later allowed for various flying effects.

For kyonides after working on a similar system, a request to make KToggleMenu for all three Ruby-script versions of RPGMaker was no problem. The system replaces the default menu style with one with colorful buttons to the side of the menu option names.

Creativity Section
Music and Audio
Do not forget that Eric Matyas is not only willing to Share His Original Music and Sound, but also offers commissioned work as well. Even so, relax in that lounge chair with that piña colada as you listen to "Carribean Moonling", a new work he just composed this week.

Art and Design
'Tis a time of art, and for those venturing into Remi-chan's Neato Arty thread thingy, you will once more see render of Yizmala, a character that Remi has been role playing in a tabletop campaing. But below some animated caracatures she puts to use in her streams when guest stars join in, some you may recognize. But days later, Remi-chan returned with a blade-wielding demoness in the hellish landscape from Doom. Not only that, a speed-draw accompanies her work.

Well, that's it for this week.
