(March 6 to March 12, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
General Chat
Both history and comedy were on the mind of kyonides if you asked him "What Are Youtubing" The first video was a satiric piece by the BabylonBee in a courtroom fiasco. And the second a summary of the history of the man in which the most famous vampire novels was based.

Riots were forefront within the News of the World this week as those that attacked a public safety training course in Georgia was internationally formed, only two residents of the state. Arrested for Domestic Terrorism, one was from Canada and another France. As the U.S. House of Representatives is no longer under Democrat control, over 41,000 hours of previously suppressed footage of the January 6th riots showed the Capital Police escorting people peacefully in the Halls of Congress, that an officer the Democrats said was killed by rioters was walking around the halls normally, and generally disproved any claims of Insurrection. The outcome of past middle-east violence hit this week's news as an Ex-Soldier receives a fourty-five year sentence for plotting a Jihadist attack, and a Jihadist pled guilty to supporting ISIS in a Saudi court. Meanwhile, a U.S. Marine stated he was ordered not to shoot the ISIS bomber during the 2021 U.S. withdrawl from Afghanistan. Since new intelligence supports the Wuhan Lab leak theory, a WHO (World Health Organization) scientist was revealed to have changed text about Covid's Origins, Fauci was blasted by the former U.S. CDC director who supported the lab leak theory, and the U.K. government now supports the leak theory. The crash of Silicon Valley's CryptoCurrency, Russia's intent to subvert the Moldovian government, and yet another Train wreck hit this week's news... and much more.

The odd phenomenon where fresh water and salt entered the Weird Science topic this week. Known as the Dead Water Phenomenon, the changes of water density and sediment traces has been known to freeze naval vessles in place.

Over a month ago, the Trainwreck in East Palestine, Ohio and the toxic spill hit the news. However, JayRan discovered that a 2022 Netflix series entitled "White Noise" about a train derailment was actually filmed in the same Ohio township. Even some of the extras in the movie were played by East Palestine citizens. Fiction to fact.

Tech Talk
Attacks against civil liberties hit this week's News of the Cyber World as the Judiciary Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government found that FTC created a massive campaign to harass Elon Musk after the Twitter Takeover, and that the Right to Bare Arms and your Right of Privacy may be put in peril by Credit Card companies tracing your purchases. Newly released intelligence shows that 80 percent of Adult Americans already had their private data stolen by China while a recent data breach at the DC Health Link may have a severe impact for thousands. Missing paychecks and transacions at Wells Fargo Banks and multiple vulnerabilities in Samsung Galaxy phones also hit this week's cyber news.

News that Chinese Hackers exist is nothing new. However, revelations that Android applications that had 100 million downloads transmitting clipboard information is new. High-profile government agencies are now under attack by a China-backed espionage group known as Sharp Panda. And Brigadeer General Robert Spalding (Retired) noted that China has instituted a massive surveillance and disinformation campaign using your own phone and phone applications.

Games Development
Development Discussion
Thoughts of modern computers and their intentional lack of read/write devices was What's up with RMers like KasperKalamity who had to purchase an external USB drive for his work. It was this that reminded Steel Beast 6Beets the issues he had with his PC's own optical drive. The number of bullet-hell battle videos that Remi-chan posted this week indicated that her game was well on its way to a final release, the battles themselves now complete. And KasperKalamity's work on the massive tileset in use had to be reduced in scale just to fit within his post, a closeup detail shot of a few tiles indicating the level of detail he has within.

Complete Projects
Artwork for your PC is now available, thanks to Starmage. A wide variety of his completed games now have new wallpaper for your screen, all made with the assistance of the Leonardo A.I. art generator. You may now have characters from BlueSkies, BlueSkies 2, Elf's Diary and his one-map contest game, Once Upon the Woods (One map event entry) for download. There are these, as well as wallpapers for A Maiden's Ballad,
Tall Tales of Fall and Astral Awakening.

Releast this week was brand new poster-art for Esper Unleashed by Starmage. Made with the help of the Leonardo A.I. art generator, the game was for the 6th Annual Driftwood Gamejam.

Material Development
Tools
A massive amount of work was done to RPG Developer Bakin, the latest 1.2 update fixing numerous bugs involving the message system, accidental deletion of sprites when editing, and incorrect placement of enemies in the batle layout window. Meanwhile, work was done to extend its plugin system, allow a fast-forward feature duing playtests, and various updates to the layout system. And if you thing that's it, you are so wrong.

Scripts Database
If you peer into the General Methods XP VX & ACE thread, you will see that kyonides posted some code that would eliminate illegal characters that may be contained within the environmental pathway variable for your game.

Plugins and Mods
The first actual plug-in for any game engine within our forum is the Crafting System plugin made for RPG Developer Bakin. Designed by Jagonz, this purchasable plugin allows one to define various categories of things to assemble or create in-game.

Special Projects
JayVinci Studios
JayVinci Resources
This week, JayRay took his revived DaVinci resource thread and have rebranded it as the JayVinci Resurrection topic. Within, he discussed the use of a simple masking system, the adition of an 80-degree preset, and the expansion of animations to include battle animations. A discussion he had with DerVVulfman brought up the use of weapons that may apppear odd at first, but may be of some use in someone's creation. And while he said he streamlined his project, JayRay estimates he has roughly seventy-five spritesheets.

Well, that's it for this week.

OK, since Wulfo didn't correct this, I'll let you know that Weird Science latest article has nothing to do with dead water phenomenon. Instead, it's all about a news article on the promise that scientists could produce energy by using a select group of bacteria that "eat" hydrogen. The study published in Nature this month actually tells you otherwise. It claims they haven't been able find that exact group of hydrogenases or hydrogen processing bacteria that could EVENTUALLY do that some day...

As a summary, what the article stated was a blatant lie trying to promote green energy via using a non existing method. Plus, nobody has ever proved that they can keep those bacteria alive and separate from the rest of the hydrogenases that can't be used to generate electricity. Sad The scientists only proved that such bacteria exist and that's it, guys. Happy with a sweat
