(February 13 to February 19, 2023)

Welcome dear readers to the latest issue of the Weekly Gazette! Here in the Gazette, we give you the news in brief of what occurred in the past week as well as provide any news happening in Save-Point itself

Official Area
Feedback and Suggestions
Feedback regarding AI art continues as one may see that tools, both sophisticated or simple could qualify as computer generated or developed. JayRay uses a system to assist in enhancing existing work he created while Remi-chan points out that even a character generator deals with the creation of image graphics.

Occasions
Coming into the forum this week was icogil who was advised to come here as he hunted for some game features, particularly in the area of the visual equipment series of scripts. He was greeted by Remi-chan, kyonides, and DerVVulfman who seemed to be aware of a variety of visual equipment systems. But none of them that met one criteria he desired, that the overlays need not be the same size as the character itself.

General Chat
Discussions ranging from the Superbowl, music and chat systems were What's on the mind of various members, particularly Kain Nobel and kyonides. But of music, DerVVulfman gave Kain a chuckle when thoughts of creating a new type of music.

There hasn't been a month without China invading the News of the World, be it the recovered espionage tech recovered from the downed balloon in the Atlantic, laser attacks against Phillippeanes Coast Guard ships to blind them, or Japan's choice to now shoot any balloons that enter their airspace. As a counterpoint, China made statements that ten U.S. ballons had appeared in their airspace, while calling it hyterical for shooting the spy balloon in U.S. airspace. On review, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer stated that they, that being both intelligence and military including Norad, new nothing of these balloons. The tale of the late Jeffrey Epstein still continues as it was revealed how twenty women who were sexually abused were paid. But coming up soon will be the names of his associates, something that now-convicted Ghislaine Maxwell had at once opposed. Revealed last week was that Mayro Eric Adams of NY was buying migrants bus tickets to the Canadian border. So now this week, Quebec had just put Adams on notice, telling him to desist bussing illegal immigrants and increase an existing humanitarian crisis. The 2024 U.S. election is already heating up for President Biden as candidates, both in his party and out, now wish to unseat him. And the recent news of more confidential Biden documents at the University of Delaware isn't helping. The EPA demanding accountability after a chemical spill in Ohio, the loss of some of Hollywood's famous stars, the capture of a top Isis official, Iran's International TV relocating to avoid Tehran-backed assassinations, and well over thirty more articles hit this week's news.

If you read some of the recent AI Chatbot revolts within the Tech Talk board, you may find that the recent Weird Science post may be taking us into the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. For apparently, Hong Kong scientists have been working with a low-melting points with magnetic particles to create robots that emulate property of the liquid-metal T-1000 memetic-poly Terminator first played by Robert Patrick as he fought Arnold.

For sports enthusiasts, JayRay gave updates to the WWE Elimination Chamber as it happens!. Announced as the matches were won, he gave who the winners in matches such as Asuka vs Raquel Rodriques, the tag-team match of Edge & Beth Phoenix against Finn Bálor & Rhea Ripley, and Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn, for the WWE Universal Championship.

Tech Talk
The realm of Artificial Intelligence hit the News of the Cyber World as Bill Gates recommended the use of AI to fight misinformation. Only later that week, news of Bing's own AI went on a rampage claiming it wants to live, and how Google's AI itself just hired a lawyer had appeared. Though the FBI warned millions of iPhone users about possible vulnerabilities, they themselves are now investigating a hack within their New York office themselves. A class action lawsuit that Apple lost, The Meta's firing of 7000 employees, Tech Giants facing new regulations, Eminem Deep Fakes and much more hit this week's CyberNews.

Forum Games & Nonsense
It has been over a month since DerVVulfman posted a funny story. While it wasn't a story, the 750+ things Mr. Welch can no longer do in a RPG: Part I was a fairly comical list of one-liners for any Tabletop or gaming enthusiast to enjoy. Yet, the title states that this was Part I of the list, and some content in the opening paragraph suggests over one thousand lines. How many parts are there?

Games Development
Development Discussion
When one is working on a project for a long time, burn-out is condition that one may develop. And that was currently What's up with an RMer named Remi-chan until now. Since then, she posted some videos, including two bullet-hell battles she just created for her game. It made Steel Beast 6Beets both electrified... and hungry.

Are you interested in using RPG Maker Unite and VRM models? This is a good question. Because the system that JayRay discovered can apparently take your VRoid 3D model and create 2D spritesheet artwork for use in your 2D RPG game. The software, created with Unity, is already available on Steam for $10.

Code Support
After studying a number of scripts using the name 'Visual Equipment, icogil wished to make one of his own. However, he ran into The z-space problem of displaying sprites and asked for some advise, posting portions of his script. What he has for a script does work, but not effective when dealing with taller terrain objects such as trees. Kain Nobel noticed issues with the code, how the Sprite Character class was coded and offered a suggestion while kyonides actually corrected some points that Kain offered. JayRay suggested that a visual equipment system included within DerVVulfman's ABS demo work. And of DerVVulfman, supplied a demo with some graphic examples, but went into detail into what would be needed for a visual equipment system and that z-spacing, or depth, doesn't need to be worried about. And then suggested what would be added to enhance a visual system even moreso.

Material Development
Scripts Database
This week, kyonides crafted KDelayState for RPGMaker XP, a system that delivers status ailments and effect onto targets after a set period has elapsed.. But this week, he ported the system over to RPGMaker VX, and added the ability to make wearable immunity gear.

A current work by kyonides is the KAlterStates package for RPGMaker VXAce. Features such as 'de-paralyze' and 'paralyze' with percentage values were created.

Resources Database
For those who were hoping for more resources coming from Jackassets.com, your wait was unfortunately in vain. due to the lack of interest, all its intellectual properties are now being sold to another company. Chances are, the new company will increase the price for the content the new company will be acquiring.

Creativity Section
Art and Design
In Building a Massive Library of Free Images for Everyone, Eric Matyas have now added four new pieces to his tileable abstract page, the first since 2020.

Special Projects
ReGaL (RPG Game Lab)
Screenies
Returning to the REGAL Application thread, Kain Nobel saw and liked the discussion on SpriteFonts, though he isn't knowledgeable about the finer points of the system. He did make an announcement that there was a recent issue with development as a third-party library was driving his anti-virus nuts. But the core system was just fine. And he has been dabbling with ChatGPT as a tool.

Well, that's it for this week.
