Hi

At 72 I hesitate to call myself a Newbie. However I have only been experimenting with RPG Maker since the first lockdown in Wales. About a year. I have 2000, 2003, XP, VX and Ace. I couldn't get MV to work on my Windows 10 system. The graphic drivers weren't compatible with Open G and Direct X didn't work. So I got a refund!

I have now had my second vaccination so all systems go!

I made a small 2000 project on Runes. More a tutorial than a game. I used 2000 as with Easy RPG you can port it to Android as well as using it in Windows. Not a great effort but a lot of fun. I hope to upload it to this site when I find the appropriate place.

Anyway that's enough of an introduction. Keep up the good work.

*HOWUUU!* (Translation from Lycan: Ello!)

I gotta admit, most would be surprised at my age. You actually got me beat by nearly two decades, if that's correct. And you actually got a refund for RPGMaker MV? That is surprise of its own!

Curious, I may have caught your name before, perhaps in RPGMAkerWeb?

And so, you show a tutorial in the Events Section, and with RPGMaker 2000 no less. Well, eventing is the heart of the system. For without eventing, you would have no actual encounters, travel or the like. I should break out my old 2K to see it. As many experienced members would say, "We learn by doing."

Hi, during the first lockdown I painted the house. During the second I had nothing left to paint so I took up RPG (joke). I worked a bit with TTL logic in the 1970s when it was de-militarised and over the years have messed around with Liberty Basic and Python etc (nothing serious). So thought I would dabble with RPG. Just for fun really.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I've lurked around the forum for a year or so picking up tips. Thought it was time to introduce myself. Like me, 2000 and 2003 has a retro feel. Also it's handy to port onto my Android tablets using Easy RPG. Will try and upload a simple Logic Tutor made in Ace and a Horse Racing game made in XP in the eventing section later. Both fairly basic but a start.
Quick query. What is limit on attachment size. Tried uploading Logic and Horse Racing files, each just over 1 megabyte, and Entity Too Large error occured. Will strip out any unnecessary files and try again.

Ignore above. Sorted now.

RE: Hi

Glad it's sorted. If it wasn't that, it could have been the 'minimum time limit' after your first post, Runes.

Ya may have noticed that you now have access to the PM system and your own user CP. You are only given access to those when yo become a fully 'Registered' member, and that happens roughly 15 minutes after your first Announcement (hello, world) post. Sort of an anti-spammer safeguard.

If you like some old content, I posted some fun articles within our Tutorials board from 'Gaming World' , an RPGMaker 2000 era site.
