With version 1.9 of RMMZ, a glitch affecting in-editor menus arose on NVIDIA graphics cards, making them flicker at an improper scale while also rendering buttons in the drop-down menu unclickable. Fortunately, after some digging, I have found a solution that works!
According to the user Evilnapkin on Steam, the procedure is as follows:
- Open up your NVIDIA Control Panel application.
- Click "Manage 3D Settings" on the left sidebar.
- In the main window, click the button labeled "Program Settings."
- If RMMZ is not listed as a program in the dropdown menu, click "Add."
- Scroll until you find the executable for RPG Maker MZ.
- Alternatively, you can click "Browse..." at the bottom and manually navigate to the correct executable.
- Press "Add Selected Program."
- Underneath the tab labeled "Specify the settings for this program," scroll until you find an option labeled "OpenGL GDI compatibility."
- Change the setting to "Prefer Compatible."
- Click "Apply."
BE SURE NOT TO TOUCH YOUR MOUSE SCROLL WHEEL AT ANY TIME WHILE EDITING PROGRAM SETTINGS, OR A DIFFERENT APPLICATION WILL BE AFFECTED. You should now be able to run MZ without worrying about the menu glitching.
