However, I hope you don't mind me posting about my game, now that's finished!

B&F will be a series of 4 games, and I've just finished chapter 1! I consider it a finished game in the sense that I won't add anything else to it other than bug fixes, and the little story it has is self-contained (it doesn't end in a cliffhanger or anything). But, there will be more, and the overarching story won't be complete until I finish chapter 4.

B&F 1 - The dark corridor
Fendi is a young elf who can't stand injustice and feels a strong inclination towards getting into trouble. In one of these times, he convinces his friend Bila, a half-elf who is very talented in spell writing, to help him sneak into a building. For justice reasons, of course.
 
B&F is a series of turn based RPGs set in a modern world inhabited by elves and humans. Elves can use magic, but humans can't, and this eventually created an inequality that Fendi isn't quite a fan of.
 
Join Fendi and his friends in their adventures, which will contain magic, a lot of dialogues, and violence against evil people. Or against robots, who have no guilt, but they're not good either.
 
This first chapter has no difficulty, it's impossible to lose the battles and there is no bad ending. So what to expect from it? Since battles are trivial, the game is basically about interacting with your surroundings and reading a lot of dialogues. I hope you enjoy that! It's an introduction to both my characters and the lore of their world. I do want to make some actual RPG battles in next chapters! They won't be especially hard or anything, but you'll be able to lose, at least :9

Based on the characters made by my friend, Kraalax! A sort-of continuation of the game I previously made for his birthday. (Also on my Itch.io). Albeit, with a new world and characters.

The game is small and story focused with some exploration. I was inspired by some other games like Morrowind, and a game I used to play a lot named "Graal Ol' West". Some features aren't fully fleshed out, but fun to test and add. Like a little swimming area. My friend and I enjoy making games for each other and sharing them back and forth. I decided to post mine :) I don't really expect many to play. But if you decide to look at the page, thank you!

About

An Essay on Insipidity, also known as Essay I, is a deliberately bad game made with Run Time Package (RTP) graphics that aims to be a quick character study and observation of a Honduran boy living in poverty named Ernesto, who uses RPG Maker to make a game and try to cope with the harsh reality in which he lives. The dialogue found in the game is a mixture of English broken to incomprehensible levels and Spanish.

I made this in one week in RPG Maker MZ Trial Version to test the engine and subsequently gave the game some updates with time.

The game received its last update (v1.1.0) on October 13, 2021.

The game is a classic JRPG made entirely with RTP on RPG Maker. Your objective is nothing more than to talk to NPCs, battle enemies across the map and defeat the Demon King and his three minions: the Demon of the Cave, the Demon of the Tower and the Demon of the Castle.
Each time you defeat a boss, a new place opens up for you to face the next one.
Along the way, you will also find several red crystals that tell Ernesto's story. Using the keys that bosses drop when they die, you can unlock the blue gates that lead to said crystals.

The game only has one ending, but to see it, you need to find all the crystals and unlock all the doors.

About

An Essay on Insipidity, also known as Essay I, is a deliberately bad game made with Run Time Package (RTP) graphics that aims to be a quick character study and observation of a Honduran boy living in poverty named Ernesto, who uses RPG Maker to make a game and try to cope with the harsh reality in which he lives. The dialogue found in the game is a mixture of English broken to incomprehensible levels and Spanish.

I made this in one week in RPG Maker MZ Trial Version to test the engine and subsequently gave the game some updates with time.

The game received its last update (v1.1.0) on October 13, 2021.



Gameplay

In the Galaxy of Xerxes, Year 255 A.XW. (After Xerian War), Doctor Celsus Mury, an eager scientist of the Archlight Facility has found a way to resurrect an unknown alien corpse, that allegedly came from the other side. Now, Franz Firebird, a curious Journalist, has taken the job to write a story about the experiment. Will Doctor Celsus be able to resurrect the alien corpse, giving Franz a great story to tell and share in the headlines? Or will things go entirely differently?
