FDA approves Pfizer's vaccine for distribution

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday formally granted emergency approval for Pfizer and BioNTech’s coronavirus vaccine candidate, officially paving the way for widespread distribution of the long-awaited vaccine.
The vaccine has been recommended to be distributed first to health care workers and residents and staff of long-term care facilities. 
The FDA's move came just one day after an advisory panel to the agency voted to endorse the Pfizer-BioNTech product.

If you're under 17 don't expect to get the shot any time soon. You see, they had no data on young patients so they couldn't prove it was safe for them or they ever needed it from the very beginning. Still, they might be getting a vaccine next summer.

The Supreme Court has denied a Texas effort Friday that would have essentially nullified the presidential elections in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.
“The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution,” the Supreme Court’s order reads. “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.”
The order does not foreclose any other pending or future election appeals at the Supreme Court, but time is running out. The states meet next week on Dec. 14 for the Electoral College exercise. And on Jan. 6 there will be a joint session of the House and Senate to count the electoral votes and certify President-elect Joe Biden as the winner.

That didn't stop Trump campaign from publishing a video reminding people of their findings that show how they included extra mail in ballots while counting votes or the way Democratic watchers and others prevented Republicans from supervising the counting.

Some still think there's a slight chance to make the Supreme Court hear their case. Democrats take for granted all of their efforts will fail the same way this lawsuit did.

President-elect Joe Biden surprised the health community when he announced his pick for Health and Human Services Secretary earlier this week, Xavier Becerra, the attorney general of California.
Becerra’s legal background made him an unusual pick for the country’s top health official, but the choice shows that Biden is looking beyond the current pandemic, and how he wants healthcare managed in the future.

Everybody realizes that he's been fighting for the Affordable Care Act. Some right wing groups complained about Biden's choice because he outright disrespects values like sanctity of human life, including babies' lives. Meanwhile "lefties" criticized Trump for playing games with sexual and reproductive rights.


In my humble opinion, I gotta tell you that appointing somebody as a head of a department that has no relation to his or her actual professional experience is a stupid mistake. Would you pick a doctor to lead the Pentagon? If so be prepared to get all branches of the military shutdown in no time. This would be a totally different story if he were running for Congress or Senate where he'd be expected to become a lawmaker. There he could take advantage of his job as an attorney to fight for legal reforms in several areas.
I hope this doesn't mean Biden is showing some sort of sign he's out of his mind already. Just joking.
