Yeah, I was wondering why you couldn't pray in the US lately. O_O You know, this kind of affects us as well because the governing party in Costa Rica has implemented rules that pretend to rule out God from public schools. Teachers are even forbidden to give advice to students if it's Bible related or they mentioned God even once. As you might recall, both countries say they respect any person's religious believes, then why haven't they showed any respect for Christianity in the last few years!? You see, many measures were taken AGAINST Christian practices specifically instead of letting people choose freely as required by the law. It's good to know somebody protects basic constitutional rights for a change. I wonder if somebody will do the same down here as well. Confused

Actually, it seems that you couldn't pray in class if you were Christian.  However, issues have been around where students were required to learn Muslim beliefs going back to at least early 2015: Politifact Link: High schoolers had to recite Islamic prayer ... make prayer rugs as homework... .  Even last year, a Maryland student was forced to write an Islamic prayer which violated her own religious beliefs and freedoms, and tried to sue.

On my mind?  Splitting up Kyo's News-of-the-World into its own thread.

So they really wanna kill the (in)famous US President!? O_O Iran can really be an extremist country...

RE: News of the World - MetalRenard - 01-22-2020

Iran was made extremist by the USA who removed their democratic leader and replaced him with a (literally) crazy dictator.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

The entire Iran problem was created by the Western allies.

Oh and, who was it that killed an Iranian general recently? Lol

RE: News of the World - DerVVulfman - 01-22-2020

I concur about the origin of the Iranian extremism, though the religious sect wanted power before the Shah was out. Still, I could go political on the the differences between then and now, but I won't. In some views, political ideology overshadows events.

But six years ago, Lord Nazir Ahmed of the UK put a bounty out for both Obama and Bush.

Even Costa Rica fears this coronavirus... Confused

https://www.crhoy.com/economia/mag-promete-cubrir-demanda-nacional-de-aguacate-con-produccion-local/
Did you know this? Costa Rica and Mexico have not been coexisting in the best terms for the last couple of years. The reason: Costa Rican government had forbidden the importation of avocado (aguacate) like the ingredient you would include in your burrito and taco recipes. Why not? Once upon a time there was a serious phytosanitary issue that made all Mexican avocados inedible. They could sicken you in no time. Of course as times changed, Mexicans claim they have solved the issue, the Costa Rican government, lead by two consecutive PAC administations, have not changed their minds and Mexico pretends to sue Costa Rica for breaking the trade agreement they had signed years ago...
