Pop Corn Crisis USA 2020
https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/popcorn-farmers-unsold-kernels-movie-theaters
Perhaps some of you have heard about an anime related to the year 2020, well, it's not part of this news article at all. What made me pick that title was the fact this pop corn crisis is happening in 2020. Confused While the anime feature a super computer virus, not the infamous Wuhan virus, this crisis is about farmers being unable to sell their kernels to movie theaters and fairs and other venues. You say, you can store pop corn for about a year before it gets too dry to ever pop up. Sad Since they're about to harvest more corn, this is getting quite troublesome indeed. Some of them were in need of building more silos to store the kernels. Shocked Nope, their efforts to sell popcorn to consumers like you and, well, not me because I live abroad Laughing + Tongue sticking out hasn't really solved their problem at all. So let me ask you this: are you able to buy some of those 111 million pounds of corn? Laughing

Judge rules Louisville police do not have to release investigative file into fatal police shooting of Breonna Taylor
https://www.foxnews.com/us/judge-louisville-police-do-not-have-to-release-investigative-file-police-shooting-breonna-taylor
The harm of releasing the file is magnified by the public attention, the judge said before adding that in Kentucky the file is exempt from disclosure.

Fox News Wrote:Police said they are also setting up some barricades around the downtown area. Many of the protests have been around a downtown park and city hall. Federal officials have closed the federal courthouse and other federal buildings for the week.

Well, people there might strongly disagree with the judge's criterion but how convenient could it be to release such information just because? Confused

NYPD officer accused of acting as a spy for China
https://www.foxnews.com/us/nypd-officer-spy-china
The alleged espionage activity occurred from May 2018 to his arrest, prosecutors said.

Fox News Wrote:Baimadajie Angwang, 33, who was born in China's Tibet region and serves in the U.S. Army Reserve, allegedly reported on the activity of ethnic Tibetans in the New York area to the Chinese consulate and was tasked with recruiting potential intelligence assets among the city's Tibetan community, prosecutors said.

As an agent, he “spotted and assessed potential ethnic Tibetan intelligence sources in the New York metropolitan area and beyond,” the complaint said. Tibetans have long been oppressed by the Chinese government and many are believed to have been killed since China occupied the region decades ago.
"The PRC has referred to Tibetans as one of 'the five poisons' threatening the stability of the PRC," the federal complaint said.
The charges against Angwang include acting as an agent of a foreign government without prior notification to the attorney general, making false statements about his contacts, obstruction of an official proceeding and wire fraud.
The complaint said Angwang serves as a civil affairs specialist with a rank of staff sergeant in the Army Reserve and is stationed at Fort Dix, N.J. He holds a "SECURITY" level security clearance, which allows him access to classified information.

New York police officers Police have been in serious troubles since Mayor de Blasio started cutting their funds and still, here we got a corrupt officer passing down information to Chinese officials concerning Tibetans living in the area. Sad Plus he also stained the reputation of the Army Reserve as well. Angry What makes it even worse, he's Tibetan himself and his father is retired from China People's Liberation Army and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party, while his mother is a retired government official and also a member of the Communist Party and his brother serves as a reservist in the People's Liberation Army. Serious Other conversations included Angwang talking about recruiting potential Tibetans as agents and rewarding them with 10-year U.S. visas. Huh?

Teddy will pass east of Bermuda throughout the day, with tropical storm conditions already moving over the island.

Keep in mind that Teddy might reach Canada later on according to NHC while Beta is threatening another region of the U.S.

Tensions between Washington and Beijing have rapidly escalated in recent weeks, mainly concerning technology firms.
Really? Oh really? Thinking So why didn't you go to Chinese courts first? Shocked Oh, that's because you already know they don't care even a little bit about your rights! It's quite hypocritical to only sue one government when you know both of them are playing the same game. That's why I can say this actually smells like CCP trying to wreak havoc in US once again.

Heroes in Harm's Way: Covid-19 show sparks sexism debate in China
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-54241734
BBC Wrote:"Heroes in Harm's Way" premiered on China's flagship TV channel, CCTV-1, on 17 September. It aired during primetime, and promised to be the first TV drama "based on real life stories" about front-line workers in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, the site of the first coronavirus outbreak.
The title of the show implied that it was going to highlight the major contributions women had made in China's epidemic fight. Women account for the majority of China's front-line workers.
Viewers' opinions show this drama is screwed since they downplayed women's role in attending the population. Shocked

North Korea killed and burned South Korean official
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-54275649
BBC Wrote:A South Korean official has been shot dead and burned by North Korean troops, said the South's defence ministry which condemned the "brutal act".
Seoul said the man had disappeared from a patrol boat near the border and was later found in the North's waters.
North Korean soldiers shot him, then poured oil over his body and set it alight, the ministry said. It had come to this conclusion based on its analysis of "diverse intelligence".

Republicans release report on Joe Biden's son
https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2020-54268887
BBC Wrote:The 87-page report called the younger Biden's role at a company suspected of corruption "awkward" and "problematic" at a time when the US was trying to help clean up corruption in Ukraine.
However, the report found little additional information that had not already been publicly revealed in news reports and testimony to the impeachment committee.
Mr Trump has claimed that Mr Biden meddled in Ukraine to help his son's business interests, but lawmakers found no evidence of this.

So is BBC now saying that Joe Biden's threat to an Ukrainian district attorney that was investigating his son was legal? So why don't people rely on such tactics to prevent authorities from ever prosecuting them? Sarcasm

BBC Wrote:Australia's Westpac bank has negotiated to pay a record A$1.3bn (£0.7bn; $0.9bn) fine for the nation's biggest breach of money laundering laws.
Last year, Australia's financial crime watchdog said the bank had failed to adequately report over 19 million international transactions.
Some payments were potentially linked to child exploitation, officials said.

Wells Fargo's Charles Scharf apologises over race comments
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-54269360
This hasn't been a good week for banks for sure. Tongue sticking out

BBC Wrote:Wells Fargo's own record on race has also been in the spotlight, as the firm has paid millions to settle investigations into discriminatory lending and hiring.
In June, the bank announced diversity initiatives, following global protests over police brutality and racism.
In the memo announcing the plans, which was reported by Reuters, Mr Scharf said: "While it might sound like an excuse, the unfortunate reality is that there is a very limited pool of black talent to recruit from."

Sarcasm I better don't ask that guy what he thinks about Latinos or Asians.
On the other hand, shouldn't people care a bit more about improving the education system and the access to universities for the average joe instead of merely complaining about his stupid comments. I mean, what if it's true they noticed how few black people pick the careers the banks are "monitoring"? Why don't they think they should come up with ways to catch those black students' eyes with some incentives? Or couldn't they encourage them by letting them partake in some seminars on banking stuff? Confused

Palm Oil Labor Abuses + Famous Brands + Banks
AP News Wrote:Jum’s trapped on a Malaysian plantation run by government-owned Felda, one of the world’s largest palm oil companies. His boss confiscated and then lost his Indonesian passport, he says, leaving him vulnerable to arrest. Night after night, he has been forced to hide from authorities, sleeping on the jungle floor, exposed to the wind and the rain. His biggest fear: the roaming tigers.
All the while, Jum says his supervisor demanded he keep working, tending the heavy reddish-orange palm oil fruit that has made its way into the supply chains of the planet’s most iconic food and cosmetics companies like Unilever, L’Oreal, Nestle and Procter & Gamble.

But why has palm oil become such a burden or problem? Confused Just keep reading to find that out.

AP News Wrote:Though labor issues have largely been ignored, the punishing effects of palm oil on the environment have been decried for years. Still, giant Western financial institutions like Deutsche Bank, BNY Mellon, Citigroup, HSBC and the Vanguard Group have continued to help fuel a crop that has exploded globally, soaring from just 5 million tons in 1999 to 72 million today, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The U.S. alone has seen a 900 percent spike in demand during that same time.

If you still think you can just skip it at will or you feel the sudden need to save the environment, you better think it twice. Sad

AP News Wrote:Palm oil is virtually impossible to avoid. Often disguised on labels as an ingredient listed by more than 200 names, it can be found in roughly half the products on supermarket shelves and in most cosmetic brands. It’s in paints, plywood, pesticides and pills. It’s also present in animal feed, biofuels and even hand sanitizer.

Yeah, even the hand sanitizer you're using to stay safe from Corona-Chan covid-19 would be at risk then. Sad

BBC Wrote:Turkey and Greece have set up a military hotline in a bid to reduce the risk of clashes in the Mediterranean, where the two are locked in a row over energy resources and maritime borders.
The move was announced by the Nato military bloc, of which both countries are members.
Tensions rose this year when Turkey sent a research ship to a disputed area.
It comes as EU leaders met to discuss the bloc's thorny ties with Turkey.
Turkey has been a long-term candidate for membership of the European Union but efforts have stalled, with EU leaders criticising Turkey's record on human rights and the rule of law, in particular in the wake of the 2016 failed military coup.

Thinking Now it sounds terrible curious that the New York Times wanted to exclude Trump from the ballots. This way they could just print Biden's face and name and get away with their "progressive" aka communist plans.
Even so it'd be too late, Dems! Tongue sticking out Anyway US President Trump is still alive so why do they ever worry about? Happy with a sweat
Even so it's suspicious how they printed the wrong names on the inner oath envelope...

Belarus election: Row with EU intensifies over disputed vote
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54394167

BBC Wrote:The EU and Belarus have imposed sanctions on each other in an escalating row over a disputed presidential election.
On Friday, the EU announced it was sanctioning 40 members of Mr Lukashenko's team.
Belarus announced retaliatory measures the same day, but has not disclosed which EU officials have been targeted.
Among those on the list are said to be Interior Minister Yuri Karaev and top security official Alexander Valerievich Bykov, whom the EU accused of "torture of peaceful demonstrators".
German Chancellor Angela Merkel told journalists the sanctions were "an important signal because it strengthens the hand of those who are protesting for freedom of opinion in Belarus."

Probably Lukashenko doesn't care about it because Putin still supports him. Some even suspect Belarus has been unofficially annexed to the Russian Federation in practical terms. Confused

US also sanctioned 8 officials including Karaev. Meanwhile UK and Canada imposed sanctions on Lukanshenko and his family.

He said neighborhoods in another 11 ZIP codes were on a "watch list" because of their rising positivity rates.

NYC was in crisis because of the drastic lockdown and now small businesses will get hit hard once again starting Wednesday if he gets his approval. Confused
