So you teach the player to hate their strengths? Shocked Then what would they do with their flaws? Love them!? Confused I hope Akiko doesn't have any other issues or else I'll send her some math exams. Laughing + Tongue sticking out

You'll have to just wait to find out. Who knows what else I reveal about the characters in the game. Laughing + Tongue sticking out

Looks like I'm gonna have to make Battle Character Sets using the character sets that's used on the maps.... I'm still waiting for... well...

You get the idea.

But I can try to make with what I have, at least.

RE: Memorie - KDC - 07-16-2019

Welp, I started making Battlers out of character graphics and an Icon of their starter weapons... I guess.

Since Akiko is the first playable character to go into battles, I decided to start with her... well the younger version of her for now.

For now, I'm in the part of the story where Akiko is learning from her teacher... or something. So This is what I started with.

I'm mixing and matching parts from the character graphic, and a icon for the weapon.

This.... is going to take a while.

Here's some more progress with the battler sprite of Akiko... Or the younger version of her anyway.

Kind of a bit hard to use only field sprites + an icon, but I'm doing a couple of things... At least. But I'm taking my time at this. I'm really not the kind of person that can actually sprite a battler, though I think I'll learn eventually, knowing that I have a fighting game to be in development sooner or later after this project.

Just say you're going old school like Final Fantasy IV, V or VI. You certainly have better graphics quality than that now. Cheery

But why the weapon blade never points ahead or forward...

RE: Memorie - DerVVulfman - 07-30-2019

Her strike is too fast to see. The moment you see the gleam of her blade or the smile on her lips, you are already dead.

Laughing

The reason why the weapon's blade doesn't point foreward is mainly because she attacks backhanded (I think I might've gotten the wrong word, but I'll call it that for now) . She does eventually learns how to attack forehanded. By the time she does, she mixes  between forehand and backhand attacks.

RE: Memorie - DerVVulfman - 07-30-2019

Are you using tennis terms? Having handled longblades, one dealing with western attack styles wouldn't have a problem swinging either way. UNLESS...their first slash gets the blade stuck in a tree. :P
