Time for some Brass Tax Seriousness

I've been taking a break from this, especially when I felt like I need a break in the head, which has been.... very long breaks... Ehehe... My head really doesn't like staying on one thing for too long, and does need something new every once in a while. Sarcasm + Confused But in all seriousness, I might've gotten a bit of Developers Block, which I call is the Developer version of Writers Block. So No. I haven't done very much, though I did try to get HiddenChest Working the other day, but.... no success on that. So I've been taking a break from all the projects, and just played... well... Videogames. I'm a gamer, and I'm not afraid to admit it, though I don't play FPS games like it's a passion. When April Fool's Day hit, It kind of gave me a small bit of an edge off, since I've been looking up some April Fools Jokes, but also got some gaming time by playing Dungeons & Dragons Online with two friends... after that, Everybody's Golf for PS4, and a slight time with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.... again, on PS4. So yeah, Developer's Block again. Hopefully it breaks off little by little so I can go into serious developing time to make up for it.

Till then, I'm putting this on Hiatus, due to Developers Block... Again.

Aw ****. Here we go again.

In all seriousness though, I'm going back into developing this game. Trying to figure out what can I do from the progress that I stopped, since I have to do a lot of things back to square one... again....

First off, I figured out what was wrong with the one part, where Animations crash the game in the Field Map. Sadly... IT WAS H-MODE 7! I just removed the script, and now the animations can be played on the Field Map again. Odd how things get broke by adding something simple as 3D Maps. So I'm going to not use H-Mode 7. For this project, at least. I might use it again, in a different project. For now, Not going to.

I'm thinking of making the Field Map Sprites as battlers, in similarity to the Takentai Battle System, with ACBS. Hopefully the Field Map Sprites in the Battle Screens will be placeholders. So I'll probably am gonna have to look up how to do that.

I am still looking for a spriter. Sadly, I have no luck, so I just bumped that. It's been a while.

All in all, Things work now, no more conflict... for now. As such, I'm gonna start developing again. Still have that block, but I'm going to take my time with it.

By making a "New" Project, then copy and paste stuff from the old project, excluding the Scripts and contents of H-Mode 7, Then copying the Scripts from the script database, manually, I managed to salvage so many things. And that's a good thing. I can continue with the project from that point on, so it's not much of a fresh start, but it helps.

So Funny thing happened...

I placeholdered the battlers for the in game actors, Wenia for the Female characters and a random Soldier for the Male characters, and this is what happened after I copied and pasted all the scripts, except the ones that are the default.

They are Literally facing the wrong way. They even run backwards. Whoops. Laughing Though I can fix that, I can always flip them the other way in an Image Editor, that's no big deal. I probably won't be editing these though, since these are from the ACBS Demo, and I'm not going to use them.

RE: Memorie - KDC - 05-06-2019

I decided to make a different approach for the beginning of the game. Instead of already being the Highest Ranked Hunter in Suri, I'm going to have the game story start at the point where Akiko was in the hospital to the end point in the game. In short it'll start her younger, but as the story progresses, so will her age at points in the story. That way the story can be made a bit clearer... hopefully.

To be honest, I gave it a bit of thought while I was pondering on how to properly start the beginning of the game. And this was the best thought I could come up with, so I hope this works out in the end. Also you don't fight any battles as a child.

RE: Memorie - KDC - 05-08-2019

In the very beginning of the game, I made it so you cannot go into the game menu. Instead, if you hit the "B" button, you'll get a confirmation to quit the game back to the Title Screen. I'm in the midst of making the maps, and the very beginning. While I'm doing that, since saving normally will be physically impossible until later on in the game, I'm placing Save Points on the maps for that beginning segment until you have the ability to go into the Menu. Also for the very beginning, since the character is partly physically, and very mentally, damaged, the character walking speed will be very slow for now.

Is there any good reason behind the disabling of the game menu at that point? O_o? I really hate not being able to save my game from the beginning because I never know when my dog or some news or some social media message will distract me for over an hour... Just making an uncomfy suggestion here. Laughing

That's where the Save Points in each map come in. That way, you can still save. Since the character's a child, in a hospital recovering, in the beginning. I thought it would be a different thing to not be able to use the in game menu, as the character doesn't really have a backpack nor any actual abilities yet, until the part of the story where she's older and more experienced.

You are given Akiko's Starter weapon in the beginning of the game, but that's pretty much it. You don't actually go into battles, so it's left unused and acts more like a good luck charm. I do have plans to give the player, for example: you, access to the game menu, as soon as the character, Akiko, is older in the story.
