awesome map work... looks professional

RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Ahzoh - 01-16-2015

I had been following this as a guide: http://aveneca.com/cbb/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3318

I will also export and upload a nother version of the map, but written in Vrkhazhian's native letters.
But I can't do such a thing until I get back to my own computer, because I have the only copy of my font there...

Spelunking in the sewers is most likely bad for your health, but here we go...

Sewers : Old Version
This is the old version from a year ago, maybe two. I don't even use the same character sprite anymore.

Sewers : New Version
The new and improved, with a cameo by my new save-point sprite!

Very nice Kain, I'm always astonished by your exceptional attention to detail on each tile!

Also working on a world map, most likely not finished :)

You obviously see the bigger map below, but pay attention to the smaller one in the upper-right hand corner of the following image.

Near the end of the game's development cycle, I will have to make a mini-map to help the player find his way. What's displayed above, the mini-map is 1 pixel per tile, mapped according to the legend (1/32 scale). The player, locations and vehicles will have a special color in the legend, as well, but the pixels will blink to stand out from the rest of the map.

Does anybody remember when Kain's spriting absolutely SUCKED?!? A small example of improvement through practice...

I still think my spriting sucks though, all I can do is keep working with it and hoping for the best.

Kain, I'm going to have to have words with you about putting down my buddy's art skills here. Yoursprites are some fo the best indy sprites I've seen. A couple more shades and you wouldn't be able to tell them apart from rendered sprites.

That's a beautiful map, Kain! Happy with a sweat

I'll need to start working on my game more, so I can do something as nice Laughing + Tongue sticking out

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Blushing + Cheery
