What do you use now? Still RPG MAKER?

RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Charlie Fleed - 11-25-2010

Nope, that's an XNA project.

Charlie, I think that the battlers HPs and MPs are a little hard to read (too small or too transparent).
Is it due to the resizing of the screenshot ?

RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Charlie Fleed - 11-26-2010

No, the screenshot is in its original size. The fontsize is just too small but the battle status is temporary. I still have to find a good design to show all those informations in a less invasive way. Then I will be able to use a larger fontsize.

How about a little change in lightning or something for the trees so they stand out from the standard rpg maker xp trees?

I've been working on the new Mode7 engine (particularly on shadows) :

That looks awesome. Very nice work on the system.

InSaNe! You are my favorite scripter man!

There are still a few things I have to do before a first release :
- bush depths (a character walking on trees is funny, however it's a little odd),
- autotiles : they're correctly drawn but aren't "in relief" for the moment,
- autotiles animation : that should be easy because it's already done in the NeoMode7 engine.

My main worry is that this script will be difficult to use, because it needs specific tilesets and some basic 3D modelling (the houses and the tower were first modellized in 3D to get their heightmaps).

Totally Epic 3D there! Good luck with that
