Here's something from my project/testbed
[Image: screengomeisa.jpg]
Some huds here and there, my passability map, icons on the right that indicate whether herbs picking and saving the game are allowed or not, as well as the presence of monsters/enemies. The hero has located a Red Sage, by walking near to it, and can go now picking it up.

Looks nice Charlie! What kind of battle system are you using?
Also, the backgrounds behind the money and the timer could be a little more visible or completely taken away. I wanna go herb hunting now Laughing

There is a fog actually. It's a little more contrasted version of Fog01, with 50 opacity and sub blending.

I didn't notice this at first, but that fog effect really gives a nice contrasted style to the map. I may steal your idea Winking

I actually like how the windows look like glass kind of. But the name of the game in the top left corner may get annoying if it's there through the whole game.
