RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-16-2025 (06-11-2025, 06:58 PM)DerVVulfman Wrote: But I am working on a LIP SYNC system. It wasn't long ago at all when I mentioned the work on a lip sync system. Its taken off quite well. It now uses twelve sets of lips that replicate most mouth positions, and doesn't look half bad either. And the system WILL be dealing with emotional states, so happy smiling lips vs angry scowl will be noted. And all of the requisite mouth positions per lip sync file and the like are going to be saved within actual .rxdata files. For this, I felt that the time has come to see about making an EDITOR of sorts: This is a partial mock-up of the lip selection screen using my Windows Widgets (which is still a WIP).
This screen allows you to define which set of lips will work with a given character profile or bust.
In the above example, the 'Esperia' bust set uses "Lips" (how original). Each lip frame or cel is 30x12, so not exactly big. And they are positioned at coordinate 115x166 on the busts. So it makes no difference if you position a bust on the left or RIGHT side of the message window, the lips will move with it The rxdata file does indeed hold all that data, and the lip sync system does respond in exactly that manner. That much is correct. With the editor, I can 'click' on a selected lip set (such as the above "Esperia" set). Clicking it will fill the requisite fields just fine. However, I need to work on saving the data and adding new records. And along with that, use dropdown file boxes as presented above to select the necessary images. So there is indeed ore work to be undertaken. After that, the second phase of the editor is to be tackled, the actual lip sync matchup system that animates the lips. Imagine if this is practice to create one's own RPGMaker Database editor WITH RPGMaker. ![]() ![]() RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-21-2025 Hahaha!!!! The lip sync editor is still in the works.... You can indeed change the number of records with the "Change Minimum" button at the bottom, just like any other RPGMaker Database Editor. Okay and Cancel works the same, either saving data into memory or resetting it. The SAVE button saves the actual data file, and all the contents are saved and restored perfectly. Indeed, I even have pop-up Hovering hints over the buttons! Though I do have issue with them and the sprite backgrounds, but I have a CHEESY workaround with my issue (for now). Hehehe, other than that, adding hovering hints like the one shown above took only a matter of minutes for the whole lot. NOW, I wish to be able to 'Right-Click' over the records on the right, so I can bring up a pop-up menu to copy/paste records. I found my right-click window was a bit borked, so ... more effort. RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-23-2025 Before the week ends, I wanted to let ya know the Half Kaiser work continued this week. Both Shorts and skirts, for both male and female, both left and right handed.... over 1000 animated cels worked on this week. RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-29-2025 Looks like I'm working on another article of clothing... The knee-high dress isn't TOO hard, but it is time consuming. However, I have at least 25% of all the animation cels complete. Do note that this isn't the strapless dress. RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-30-2025 More work work work.... Now I got the right-handed female kneehigh dress done. It took a while, but its done.
Next up... these dresses for dudes.
![]() RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 07-03-2025 I've finished working on the first dress design, a knee-length dress with shoulder straps, this based on a concept by Holder. Of course, playing fair required that the dress design be available in both genders and hand orientations. ![]() As towards the lip sync system i've shown off, the editor is still in the works. This is still the first page/tab of the editor, the one that defines which lips work with which actor type(s). While I have discovered I need to perform more work upon developing the widgets (Windows objects0, the mechanics for this page are now complete. The next page is the fun part.... actually creating the lip sync records themselves. RE: What's up, RMers? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 07-03-2025 Unisex dresses reminds about a lil' amusing bit in Dragon Quest IX where the maid outfit is the only piece of female armor that can be worn by males without the specific accessory that allows you to do so. So if you wish to have a band of roaming crossdressing maids then knock yourself out. RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 07-06-2025 Oh Remi dear Remi, hath thoust tapered off into obscurity, O' vessel of productivity? No. I have just been so busy and my mondays (your sundays if you are American) have been so chockers for me that I've not had the chance or time to report. But I am here now to report just all the kinds of craziness me and my team have been up to! Let's start with my own work, then. Remi-Chan Disk 1 Main Story Overhaul It's pretty rare for a single line to NOT be rewritten between patches, but I've more or less done a full blown re-write from the beginning of Disk 0 until just shortly before the end of Disk 1 concerning the main story. This has given me a chance to better humanize, harmonize and flesh out several characters who before i felt weren't getting the love and attention they were due. Also fixing up some massive tonal issues and rewriting the Archangel Council to be a bit more sympathetic now, not to make them out as less or more villains, but more to work in favor of future story elements that may explain why they are behaving this way. ![]() Major work on making Sacreblu more likeable, as well as making Lumi a tad bit more tragic and so her only bit of backstory regarding her own trauma isn't a big mystery until Disk 2 unless you do a particular chain of events on Vahnus that can entirely be skipped. ![]() ![]() In Disk 0 particularly, Yi is written much better now and is much, much more unsettling, making it feel even more like she is not so much a bringer of fear, but the very concept of it. But that, this--- this is only the beginning. Disk 1 Boss Main Story Battle Recodes All six of the main-story boss fights (Pep, Svoli, Kara, Rolly, Tristy and Lyza) are done. The fight between Sacreblu and Koko has also been recoded, leaving only the optional boss fights for Highlord Naxon and the Blood Council remaining, and the latter of those I fully intend to do a huge remaster on, similar to the Edensent Emissary bossfight and my plans for the revamp of Tiramisa's boss fight. I have not yet done the battle introduction for Lyza's bossfight, but all else is accounted for. So! Here's two videos showing off the boss fights and writing that leads up to and trails off from it! But yet, I have done even more! Nekomata Additional Expressions I got tired of the Nekomata only having one expression each, so I went and made edits of each, four for each one, before only Patricia and Amberina had that many. ![]() I'll share some screenshots in the maps and screenshots thread, I'll also post a video highlighting two of these lovely goobers over in my writing snippets thread. While I have done other small things, none of it is noteworthy as all of that. I will be doing an expansion on Fyori's number of expressions as well, since both Esperia and Sacreblu have a bunch more than what they started with. Pjcr Raira of the Nekomata and L'soiv D'pes of the Nekomata If you were perceptive a minute or less ago you may have noticed there were two new face sets with Pjcr's art style in the facegrid. Yes. He got me two files, one for Raira and one for L'soiv D'pes who isn't a Nekomata but she just fit well into the space. ![]() ![]() Raira is more RiseDemos's design. So don't look at me! There are screenshots I will post in the apropos thread showing these in action. Xiie Senshi Sprite Xiie continues on the Nekomata sprites, she had done Fire and Shadow, and recently Blood. next up is Arcane, and then Ice, Lightning, Water and Holy remain. She presently toils on Nankaina, the Arcane Nekomata. ![]() There will be a screenshot showcasing her in the apropros thread. Coyotecraft Yasondre Chub Edition ![]() She's so perfectly round and goopy, I love her! :3 Coyote has seriously been a life-saver in regards to more difficultly proportioned sprites. RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 07-06-2025 Of course, I am still working on Half Kaiser Battler outfits, and I began work this week on Strapless Dresses! But I must always remember that both genders must be treated equally graphically with these works (or startup works at least), I had to follow through for the guys. Not much chance of this guy winning the Miss Universe pageant. BUT such would be hilarious for instances where the hero must try and dress up to get out of situations like in Final Fantasy VII. Heck, there's a few anime where the hero gets FORCED into outfits against his will. ![]() But I digress as I also began working on another helmet, the Barbute. Its not the greatest helmet. But usually, the barbute has flashier accents around the face, optional ridge and/or flare along the top, and/or a visor to protect the eyes or face. THIS... has none of them and could be considered the basic model without the purchased accessories. Dang you online purchases and loot boxes!!!!! RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 07-14-2025 Kimonos are HARD. I have the right-handed poses done as most of the older resources transferred to the right-handed template pretty well. However the left-handed poses must be totally reworked. It is not a traditional dress, but a robe with a visible seam. |
